Hello, we recently booked this room for its " hump" location. Just wondering if anyone has even in this room before and what kind of noise do you hear from the deck above ? Also, what condition is the room in? I'm guessing it should be very nice, being an OS ! Thanks in advance! ....ps we still have plenty of time to switch rooms if this one is a bad one !

Yes you can ! We recently sailed with a coworker of my wife, and the lady's husband was the pickiest eater I have ever seen ! It was embarrassing to go eat with them ! He ended up ordering off the kids selections!
-
I would book the GS on Oasis. It's a great price and a great ship !
-
Yes, I'm still on hold. I've heard about long hold times, but this is absurd. Should I give up??
Don't give up ! Multi task while waiting. I was seconds away from a 2 hr. hold, but saved $1,000 on our Allure cruise. Well worth the wait. Just put your phone on speaker and do other things till they answer !

You made two good points....balcony room and August ! I wouldn't trade the hot weather and a balcony for a much much colder cruise and inside room !

You should hear from them at least a week before your cruise. They usually explain what extra's you get for being in a suite or if you want to book a cabana at either Labadee or Coco cay. Enjoy !

Yes, they are 3 different people ! You will have 2 concierge' s in the concierge lounge, and also a Diamond concierge. You can Email them at the address Camlott posted. We really enjoyed the concierge lounge, especially the breakfast, but weren't to impressed with the Diamond lounge.

You must wear socks and they provide the climbing shoes. You can't climb in a wet bathing suit. Thy also provide a helmet. No time limit so enjoy !

Cruising on the FOS with family and friends.
Wife and I have always enjoyed our past Carnival cruises.
I've spent the past couple of months lurking here on the Royal forum and I'm not sensing that there is much difference between the cruisers/posters on Royal vs. the cruisers/posters on Carnival.
Other than paying twice as much for a GS on FOS than I would for a GS on the Breeze,,,, what am I missing or not understanding?
Thanks
We have been on FOS 5 times now in a GS or OS. You will love how they spoil you. Check with RCL's web page for all the perks suite guests get , but off the top of my head, a few are priority boarding, concierge service and use of the concierge lounge with free drinks each night from 5-8:30, full menu when ordering room service, sit down breakfast at Portifino's each morning, priority seating at all shows, private seating near the pools, just to name a few. It's hard to go back to a regular room once you have been spoiled by a GS. Enjoy your cruise !

Without question.....YES !

Can't speak from our own experience, we have never sailed at Christmas because of the price, but friends of ours have and the price of their cruise doubled for interior rooms between when they booked it and when they sailed. Plus it sold out a few months before Christmas.

Thanks for the review! We are on this ship later this year in a one bedroom suite too. We have heard nothing but good reviews about Disney, and can't wait for our turn !

We were on Freedom Feb 16-23 and asked Kjell Evensen , Chief Engineer about the problem. He stated that they are repairing the thrusters and were ordering parts for the repairs. This is an ongoing project and that the ship can navigate fine without any thrusters at all. The thrusters are used mainly for docking. The repairs take time since they are all underwater repairs with special divers and equipment. These guys do a great job in keeping everything running efficiently and making it a safe trip for all. No big problem that would has an affect on any enjoyment of a trip.
Enjoy your cruise!! We did!!
My stress level just dropped a notch ! Thanks for the update !

It was posted on one of the threads after the last long delay that they were doing work when they are on the eastern itinerary since Coco Cay is so close, a delay in departure does not cause any issue with the itinerary.
We have been watching her on the web cam and noticed that on the Eastern route weeks, she leaves very late at night, thanks for the update ! We are on her next month but on the Western route. Fingers crossed that all goes well !

Maybe its just me but when you're calling a company during one of the biggest sales they've ever done, in the middle of their busiest time of year...I'd wait longer than 15 minutes if I had to. Put the phone on speaker, set it down and go about your business. When they pick up, discuss.
Maybe its a generational thing, but I just don't let long hold times bother me. I multitask.
Funny you say that ! That's exactly what I did ! Sat on the couch, finished a movie I was watching, and did more computer work while I waited ! Must be an age thing !

The weight machines all have instructions on them that are easy to understand so I doubt you will need a trainer that costs extra $$. While using the gym, we listened to a trainer putting the hard sell on some elderly lady of all the extra's she had to have to make her gym experience better ! Also, like others have said, try the jogging track, it is amazing !

I always call C&A and get quick response time, but had to call the regular number last night because C&A was closed. My wait time was 52 minutes, but well worth it as we saved $1,000 off our Allure cruise next month !
-
This would be like asking......I'm going on a thousand mile journey, which would be better, a 3 speed bike, or a stretch limo. Without question....the Allure ! You will love her !

Portofinos offers breakfast?
Yes, for anyone in a GS or bigger (the gold card for suite guests) you can order off their menu or just grab cold cereal or danish and fruits from the buffet. The menu has a good variety to choose from. You can also go out to the WJ and bring food in and eat it away from the crowd. I'm pretty sure you can go to the WJ and get lunch and take it there also, but they don't serve a lunch in Portifino's . It's a very relaxing breakfast, and usually isn't very crowded.

Wow...tough call. We have done FOS 4 times now, with 5 th next month in both GS and OS. Like you stated, we too love Portifino's for a great breakfast and dining. We weren't to thrilled with the concierge lounge, but had a great time with Willie. We did hear he moved ships and now Rahuel is now concierge who we met before and really liked. The diamond lounge is also nice, with a great view. We did like the concierge lounge on AOS but found it very crowded in the mornings for breakfast and we never saw either concierge or talked to them ! The only contact was a phone message now and then . Also the diamond lounge is poorly located and again, we never saw a diamond concierge ! All in all I think the staff on FOS is much friendlier and more attentative to your needs. But AOS is a beautiful ship, despite the staff.

Yes it is very high, but what an amazing ship ! I had a GS booked on Freedom for next year at thought the price was unbelievably high and ended up switching to Allure because its the same price that we paid on a previous Allure cruise. I guess if you want it bad enough, you pay what they ask or go carnival !
-
For us the perks are worth it, but we like to do our own thing and avoid crowds. We really like going to Portifino's for a quiet breakfast and avoid the crowd at WJ. And going to any show and getting priority seating or ordering room service off the full menu and enjoying it on the balcony ! Once you move up to a GS or better, it's hard to go back !
-
There will times it will be crowded, like the watch sales, or t shirt sales but other then that, it is really spaced out and everybody seems to be involved with some activity and its not really congested. I would imagine the WJ might be crowded on shore days, but we never went there for breakfast .
-
Yes you do, one of the few perks with a JS. Priority boarding and a big walk in closet too.
Tip your bar servers!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reminder MM ! We really enjoy the Schooner bar and hand our server a cash tip which seems to make the service a whole lot better ! Usually if its not to crowded, they take the time to chat with you and you get to know each other a little better which adds a personal touch to your experience !
