  1. Thanks for the update Jim! We have 13 weeks until our next cruise on Freedom and we are watching you guys sail today to curb our cravings! LOL!

7 weeks for us. Seems like she was late leaving 2 weeks ago also ! Hope it doesn't affect the Western cruise departure times ! Happy sailing to all those onboard !

  2. Bingo . right answer. I've seen "Hot Deals" priced higher than the regular price, and I am a daily price checker!!

"Exclusive Rate" is usually when there is a genuine Senior, Military or residency rate.

I can only guess that the hot deal draws in the people who are first time shoppers and just figure they won't beat that price, cause after all it does say its a hot deal !

  3. I bought lanyards for ours , because out of habit I always put things in my front pockets. Things like cruise cards and my camera ! Then it's a trip to customer service to get new cards because my camera wipes out the card ! And I usually figure out the card doesn't work when I race back to the room after the coffee's kicked in ! Sorry if that's tmi .

  4. Why does it matter what Royal does if you are on DCL?

DCL has formal and semi-formal nights on cruises of 7 nights or longer. Short cruises have a night designated as "Dress up optional" which means exactly that. Some guests will choose to dress up' date=' some will not.

There are photographers doing family portraits on this night if you are interested.[/quote']

Sorry Mokismommy, we are RCI cruisers and I know their formal night policies but this being our FIRST Disney cruise I wanted to know what they offered. I thought by my screen name people may have guessed that we have been on Royal before and were wondering what Disney had to offer ! I'll try to simplify it next time I have a question. Thanks for your help !

  5. Try this......it's worked for me several times ! DONT sign in, and click on"Before you Board" once that box drops down, click in "Countdown to Cruise" . Fill out the info with your cruise number and sail dates, and that should get you into your reservation. I had the same problem just prior to our cruise and this got me in every time . I now get everything printed out as soon as I am able so I don't have to worry if this happens again ! Good luck !

  6. Couldn't agree more ! We are very fortunate to have the luxury and we never try to take it for granted . Some of the huts we have seen in Cozumel and Jamaica that people call home makes us very thankful for what we have. Like my Mom always used to say " Yay but for the grace of God go I " . Great post ! Happy cruising !

  7. Hello, we will be on our first Disney cruise in Sept. Just a few questions about the cabanas. If we are even offered one, what is the price ? And are they worth the price, or is there enough to do there ? We are kinda looking for peace and quiet, so is there other places to find solitude ? Thanks in advance !

  8. Your friends would not have joined you in the D lounge on my last cruise. Every card was checked on the first night and thereafter until they recognized you.

On the Freedom, you have to swipe your card to get the door to open, so they won't be able to get in by themselves, and we aren't the type to try to sneak people in. It's not that big of a deal for us.

  9. looking at my cruise compass stuff from my last cruise, self-assist was from 7:30 - 8:15 am. They may start earlier if the gangway is ready earlier. On my last cruise on EN, they announced self-assist could commence at 7:20. I was off and through Customs and Immigration and wistfully standing on the curb by 7:50 am.

We were on 3 weeks ago and they made the announcement right at 8am for self disembarkation . We had #5 luggage tags and were called by 8:20 to leave and were waiting at the bus by 9. I would guess there won't be a problem, their car might have to wait a few minutes, but even if they didn't get thru by 8:30 they should be at MCO by 9:30.

  10. We were just the 3 weeks ago, and I emailed the Concierge a few days before the cruise asking him to reserve a cabana for us. The ticket was in our room wen we boarded to get into the cabana area. We saw the Concierge in the morning before we got to Coco Cay, but just went down to deck 1 when we were ready to leave the ship and showed the girl running the line our Gold cards and she took us right to the front of the line. With the cabanas you get free use of snorkel gear, a floating mat , 4 bottles of water and a bottle of champaign in the cabana, plus a great lunch !
