More.....more....we leave in 4 days for our Eastern Allure cruise !
-
You will love the GS ! Once you get one, you will never go back to anything less. Book it and enjoy !
-
You should get n Email from one of the concierge's a few weeks prior to your cruise asking if you want to reserve a BB cabana. I would keep the Nellies one you have till you hear from them, then cancel Nellies for the BB.
-
Just a quick question for anyone who has stayed in the above suite. I notice that it is somewhat under a whirlpool area.Did you hear the motor noise from the whirlpool in the suite? Thank you in advance.
We were in this room , and there is NO whirlpool noise !
-
Great review and pics. 3 months to go and we are on her !

There should be no issue in deciding between FOS and anything Carnival has to offer. Maybe as a change of pace, try Epic or Oasis/Allure !
-
My vote is with the minority. I would love to spend an extra day in the cabana ! I'd even consider giving up Cozumel as a trade off for it !
Hey Eric & Colleen, yes I know! We miss the ship so much already and it's only been a week. Just booked the QOS for 12 Dec 2014 an 8 night Bahamas cruise. That fit into Julie's college schedule. I'm also booked for the Oasis of the Seas on 3 May 2014 with my sister and my Florida friends. Maybe you all can do the QOS with us??? :D
Aww sorry no roast beef sandwiches on board.
Thanks for the offer Anne. Unfortunately a cruise in Dec. would be to risky for us with our weather. If we got snow and our dog sitter had problems I would never be forgivin ! We are looking at a cruise in Sept, right after Labor Day. There is a 4 night Bahamas cruise, and a 5 night Western Caribbean, both out of Fla. I'll let you know if I book one. The Wow sale starts tomorrow so ill see what their pricesre like. Happy cruising ! -

Great slide show Anne ! It's almost like we were there living it with you ! -
Loved reading this thread!! Us cruisers our ALL on the same page when it comes to our cruising and our outlook on life!!
Hitting the "like" button.

I am retired almost 2 yrs. but may go back part time just to be able to cruise more!
Had to laugh when I read this. I will be eligible for early retirement in the summer of 2015, but everything will be based on having enough to maintain our cruising lifestyle !
-
Thanks for the great review. I've been watching our cruise for a price drop, but it's still at $6,400. Plus taxes, almost 7. I guess our GS will suffice for now !

We have a cruise on the Freedom in 4 weeks. I emailed the Conceirge a while ago and the response I got was that they would email me 4 days prior to the cruise. I have my fingers crossed that it will happen.
Are you on the May 26 FOS ? The concierge is Willie, he should send you an Email 4 days prior, just like you were told.
-
First time on FOS we never received an Email from the concierge but were still able to book a cabana at Barefoot beach after we boarded. Since then, Willie has Emailed us 4 days prior to the cruise. No idea if there is a set date, just glad to hear from him !

Hello everyone! It's been a very nice weekend on board the Monarch for her last cruise with RCI. We've had great weather all three days. The past guest party was yesterday, there are a TON of C&A members on board. Somewhere around 80 Diamond, 170 D+ and 30 Pinnacle!
Tonight will be the Farewell Party in the Centrum, I'll get lots of pictures to share when I get back home. The ship is still in good shape. Other than the empty gift shops and farewell banners you wouldn't know that anything was different.
I'll be back on later today or tomorrow with more, but I just wanted to let everyone know that the old girl's last cruise was going well!
Thanks for the update. We look forward to more of the review and any pics. We were on her in Nov. for our last time with her. She will be missed !

34 Freedom, 188 Allure, 398 Freedom !
-
My dad is a Navy man and that's how he taught me to remember also :)
Also anxiously awaiting the rest of the review, we are on the Freedom Western itinerary in three weeks!
Off subject I know, but had to jump in.......Air Force man here, on jets, the green marker lights are on the right of the jet......green5, right5. Red marker lights on left!
-
Great start, we are on the same cruise in 34 days, but who's counting ! 4 th time for Freedom, we love her !

Thanks Cruisingater2

I have photos of the Crown Loft in both my Allure and Oasis photos in the link below.
Thanks for your input and knowledgeable posts. I know this is kinda off subject from the OP, but as long as we are on the subject of Allure, can you tell us where you recommend eating on embarkation day for lunch . We are kinda iffy on windjammer. Does the concierge lounge offer anything for lunch or is there a place you recommend ? We will probably hit the MDR for dinner, but any better suggestions will be appreciated....thanks !
-
I have to agree, we got to see a Crown Loft Suite on our Cabin Crawl - truly different - lots of open space.
We were also "invited" into a "Sky Loft Suite" while on the crawl, which is on one corner of deck 17, totally amazing.............lots, and lots, and lots of space.
RCI Cruisers 004: the reason I quoted you is we generally stay in GSs or an OS if the price is
Thanks for the post.....I have been checking prices almost everyday, and as it looks right now, it would be cheaper by $300 to book the CL over the OS. Strange I know, but that's how it shows up. One concern I had was we enjoy a balcony that overlooks the ocean like in a GS or OS, but I guess if you are in a CL you would have more of a panoramic view ! Thanks again !

Thanks for the post. We are in a GS on Allure in Sept. and I have been thinking of upgrading !
-
That's great to know! Does it matter which hotel? I usually stay at the Country Inn near the airport, which has its own shuttle.
RCI will have a list of their hotels available when you call them that you can use their transfer from. We have stayed at Hyatt Regency, Caribe Royale and Lake Buena Vista Palace. They are all nice hotels and the bus usually picks you up around 1030. They make a few stops at other hotels and sometimes the airport for cruisers that arrive the same day as the cruise and then it's off to port Canaveral. It's about a 45 minute ride and we are usually on board by 1 ish.

Hate to say, but I am having a major brain lapse. I just finished filling our our on-line cruise documents. In the past, there was a link somewhere to order luggage tags, and, they were mailed to us.
We are sailing on Royal Caribbean Explorer Of The Seas in May.
Can anyone help me on where to find this link so I can order our tags.
Thanks
Dave
Check around day 49 for luggage tags if you are in a GS or above . We are at day 51 and nothing yet !
Who eats at the WJ for dinner on OASIS?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
We only ate at WJ once after going to a show and didn't get there till late . Hardly a crowd at all and we thought the food was very good. We still enjoy MDR and will continue to go there, but this was a nice change !
