My husband just checked our reservation for Silhouette in Feb 2024.
He is in our original booked cabin and I am in a different category on a different deck 😮No Move up bids made
Has anyone ever had this happen?
Thank you 😂🤷🏼♀️Bring the pineapple door hangers!

Look on the Celebrity app it should have it there. If you did not do it Celebrity is running a discount also on the App for $6.99 to up grade to premium.
My upgrade in the APP is for 18.99 per guest per day. But my cruise is very soon.

Kind of feel like bait and switch here. We bought a Future Cruise Credit in the spring, which says “all included: Drinks, Wi fi, Tips” Then the new President’s announcement that All Inclusive was deconstructed and no longer included gratuities after October 4
Tried booking a cruise today because of the certificate, and even though we have the certificate that says gratuities included, we HAVE to pay gratuties now!!! Know cruise lines can change things, but this now makes us determined to book elsewhere We are close to being Elite Plus. This leaves a bad taste
This is no different than Celebrity changing the cruise fare between the time you bought the "FCC" and when you went to book your cruise later. Fares change.

we stopped buying those open ended certifs yrs ago, not worth it!
What about them is "not worth it"?
They provide a reduced deposit for non-suite cabins, right? Maybe a little OBC, right? They didn't create any extra costs or reduce the cruise experience, right?
I'd rather pay a lower deposit for bookings a year + out.- 2

We were at the beach club a couple of weeks ago. There were plenty of chairs, umbrellas, etc. I was on Oasis and Indy docked before us. There were tons of empty chairs, but it is annoying that the ship that paid less gets onto the island first and all the prime spots are taken.
You're kidding right? Well, next time...go cheaper and you'll get the better spots. Geebus.

Viator sells tix for this. They often offer 10%+ cash back on Rakuten. That can be significant cash back given the price.

Yes. Called.

Yeah, was excited for this. Right up to when I read this, "fueled by non-stop, DJ-spun beats. ". Some chill Jimmy Buffett at a low volume would suffice.
I understand its been discussed, but just booked a trip that has it in the planner.

I'll semi-hijack this thread (apologies in advance). We'll be there in 19 days.
If you're not a beach person and have no desire to do any of the activities or excursions there, is there really any reason to spend time there other than checking it out?
The last time I watched a video of the food it looked mostly hot dogs and burgers, so that's not a reason either unless the food has been changed.
We haven't been there in forever so we'll likely get off the ship just to take a walk but don't think we'll be staying long unless someone tells me I'm missing something. TIA!
P.S. I'm not looking to be convinced that I should enjoy a relaxing day on the beach there. If you enjoy that, great, everyone has their own preferences, it's just not our thing unless there's good food to get in between lounging like on CocoCay.
I'll give it a go....
Not a beach person
Not interested in activities or excursions there...
Hhhhhmmmm....
Nope, no reason to spend time there.
Duh.

And, if I may suggest, this is one of those reasons to have a quality travel agent.
So many times folks ask why, or state there is no need for one. But, having someone with contacts in the company and who can go to bat for you is a reason to have one.Kinda like insurance, you don't need it until you need it.
Ok, wasn't done rambling, but am done now. 🙂

Did you father get any treatment in the medical center on the ship? If so, is it possible the $1,800 is actually the bill for the medical treatment, not the PVSA fine?
But still, they need documentation of the charge so they can file on their trip insurance.
I don't think the OP is upset at the charge as much as not having documentation so they can file with the insurance. We had a relatively small medical issue on board once. Didn't get the documentation and it was nearly impossible to get that information after. I realize in this case the fee was charged weeks later. But furthers my point of not leaving the ship until you have the documentation you need to file claims later. You may never get it after the fact. And again, I understand this doesn't exactly fit my point, but is a great example.

We share with the crew too!!!!! It is a good thing that I don't live in Portland because I'd be 500 pounds!!!!
On Saturday, the farmers market in the park by Holey is off the charts.

Oh my gawd...yes.
A dozen...wow. Holey Donuts are pretty heavy, that would be rough on my stomach. But good.

Have you ever been to the backside of Cozumel? Beautiful ocean scenery and five interesting bar / restaurants. Only open during the day. Well kept secret from most visitors.
The Cozumel Bar Hop.
Leave the driving to them!

I have a system for checking out towels:
- I check them out on the first day, and I don't return for the length of the cruise.
- Instead, I "exchange for fresh" as often as I want.
- Two reasons: Every time you check out /return, your number goes in /out of the system. Every time you do that, the possibility of human error exists. When you "exchange", you don't create a record. Also, this means you always have clean towels in your room, so if you want to go to the hot tub early in the morning or late at night (when the towel station is closed), you have towels.
- The negative is that you have to remember to bring your towels with you.
- I return the towels on the last day and make sure-sure they're logged in.
How this works on Coco Cay:
- I don't know for sure where the towel is on Coco Cay, and I'd rather head straight for my lounger, so I like bringing my own already-checked-out towels from the ship.
- IF I see a towel station on the way back, I'll "exchange" my towels for fresh, so I'm carrying lighter, dry towels.
This is what we do. Check out 4 right away. Never check them back until before dinner last day. Always exchange.
Use dry towels to roll up your wet swimwear then lay it down and walk on rolled up towel. Unroll and your swimwear is almost dry. Proceed to get fresh towels on next trip up to pool.
-
You also need to consider how long it will take to get off the ship and into port, given it is a tender port. It can take quite a while longer than a pier. May go quick, but it may not.

Those rewards have been finicky with me. They should be able to determine it is a "new booking" without relying on if it is past final payment. I've had a couple randomly refused though one was because my TA booked me into a group rate and I didn't realize it.
Yes, they can be finicky. I can say we've redeemed over $1k of OBC with them, never spent $1 on the game.
Knowing the T&Cs are important. My biggest issues have been booking more that 1 year and booking more than 2 in one year. But those are in the T&Cs usually.
FYI, I have found that some rewards have/had different T&Cs than other rewards offered at the same time. Didn't make sense, but help my TA get OBC applied for me once. -

We also had really cheap minimums: RS was $175/pp, GS was $140/pp, and OS was $280/pp.
Our winning bid was a bit higher. I don't think we went much over minimum.

Thanks for the link. But... are the benefits different due to us using MoveUp? I honestly don't know the rules for that.
-
What a shock, we just had our MoveUp offer accepted for our upcoming Mariner trip. We move from a Junior Suite to an Owner's Suite. This will likely be a one time thing.
I'm sure this has been addressed ad nauseam, but I'm not good at the search function on CC. So, here goes.
Since we were JS, we still get 2x points, right?
I know on Mariner there is no CK, but we've never been higher than JS, so are there any added benefits? Lounge access? Concierge access?
We previously purchased a dining and drink package so just trying to make sure what we need to do with them. I don't think we pick up benefits, but I need to be sure.
Anything else we should know about our new-found cabin?

Hey.... who gave you permission to take a picture of my clock? LOL
Just kidding.
But, it was heavy. They delivered it to the cabin in a box. Then we put luggage tags on it and had it out with the other suitcases. And it arrived in the terminal no problem. Then we had a porter take it to our car. He was well compensated for that. Ironically, we also had two pieces from glassblowing we had to get off the ship.Fortunately, we drove to the port.
It is now on proud display in our house.

Doesn't matter what has worked in the past, in other cabins or other lines. The ship will provide instructions with the time to put the bags out. Follow the instructions provided, not what social media says.
