Trying to catch up. Between being away from home for the past week and Greg's review I'm a couple days behind. We board Celebration in 31 days... These reviews are good prep. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Amor Cubano was cancelled on our recent Horizon sailing. No explanation. Glad to see I may have a chance to see it here.

So far I’m pretty happy with the Miami port. The ones with a lot of ships usually are a nightmare with traffic. Fort Lauderdale, port Canaveral, galveston. I don’t know if its
because it was before 10am or what but we sailed right through. Parked right by the ship. Porter was right there. Short walk inside. No wait for check-in. Short wait for security.
Last Sunday it was a nightmare

We've done both. We sleep better inside, found we spent very little time on balcony preferring to be out and about, get same views from open public decks AND its less expensive letting us cruise .more often. Inside is a win for us

Diamond/Platinum/Suites: you MAY be permitted to drop off luggage upon boarding tho no guarantee cabin will be ready before 1:30. All others should wait for the announcement. I've seen discussions on social media platforms that some folks don't care about this and go thru those closed doors anyway..... This is rude as those cabin stewards are super busy getting the rooms ready. If ppl continue to ignore this small stipulation, it will ruin this small perk for "frequent flyers".

Pay attention to how much an Uber or Lyft costs vs. the flat rate taxi fare. Sometimes due to surge pricing, it can be cheaper to take a taxi. But usually it’s similar to a taxi or cheaper.
This!!! Yesterday we debarked from Horizon. 6 ships in port in pouring down rain. Uber to FLL was running between 85-110. I didn't check to MIA. When going to MIA we usu just grab a taxi. easier than trying to locate the Uber/Lyft vehicle in the sea of humanity and luggage.

Following. We will be on Celebration Jan 8th. Just off Horizon yesterday docked right beside the newship. Was hoping to get a good look at her.... Saw just a glimpse. Was horrible debarkation from terminal D. Pouring rain, broken escalator, experienced terminal staff sent to F to greet Celebration VIPs etc etc. Have a good trip! Always enjoy your reviews.

DH and I have separate brokerage accounts. Neither of us own 100 shs individually. In the past I've submitted a copy of each statement which when combined are over 100 shs. Denial says 100 shs must be one account. In the past they've accepted the 2 accounts combined. Is this new or did we get lucky in the past? I have no plan to purchase more shares at this time.

Or buy cruise cash in advance... You can avoid CS and those finicky kiosks.

The soft serve station typically looks like a bomb went off near it.
I usually love the soft serve... However on my last CCL it was a mess (spring break time). Didn't have one the whole cruise. I liked RC serving it. I realize that would be a labor trade off, but just the germs on that thing icky

Oh well, no more gluttony. I have seen much wasted food on cruises, it was just a matter of time. I've never ordered 2 entrees.... But often a couple starters.

Room Service is a possible solution.

This is the only time I remember a Cheers sale, I doubt barely anyone who purchased it was able to actually use it. Our cruise was cancelled too.
Same, somehow we were able to move it to a new booking

I thought I remembered a kiosk called "Tandoor" on Breeze, up on Lido. Not there on the deck plans. It was pretty yummy!
Tandoor was on a couple ships we've sailed, but can't remember which ones. It appears that area has been replace with the Seafood spot (for extra$$)

Right before covid, Carnival ran a 20% off Cheers sale. It was the first time I'd ever seen them do that in the nearly 10 years I've been cruising. We purchased it but then that cruise got canceled.
Luckily we got to take advantage off the free Cheers offer once things restarted.
this is what I'm referring to.... we took this offer without blinking. Not huge drinkers so have a hard time justifying the cost unless we get a sale. Agree with above no more RU2 codes.

Thoughts on a Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale this year?

Yes, the same thing.....over and over. Carnival once had a INDIAN site in the rear of the ship...by the pool. Had lots of INDIAN favorites.. Tikka Masala, Chutney, Chickpea Curry and more...Naan fresh too. Delicious .....now sadly gone.
We just went on RCCL last month. Was a wide selection of Indian dishes each day. Really enjoyed it and miss it on Carnival.

I agree the lunch time cake buffet is pretty great. Funfetti cheesecake served only on embarkation day is THE BEST dessert of the week.

Ever since I did my 11 day Europe land trip last July with just a carry on, I am inspired to do all my travel with just a carry on. So far, so good. My DH and DD's did carry on as well in Europe so I'm thinking this upcoming 5 day Thanksgiving cruise will be a piece of cake. We will be rolling on and off the ship! 😃
^^^THIS!!! Also did 8 days in Italy with carryon and personal item. Shoes are always the tricky thing for me. Packing now for an 8 day cruise + 2 extra days. Struggle is real but I'm determined.

Admittedly I did not read this entire post... I will offer my observation: be prepared to encounter Covid, flu, norovirus or any number of illness on a ship. do your best to protect yourself and loved ones: vaccines or masking (if so inclined), hand washing etc. DH came home covid + from cruise last month. Its unavoidable. He's fine, had a mild case and fully recovered.

Many ppl on these boards will dis you for using cruise cash. I use it anyway. And like you I despise standing in line at GS desk. I'm recently plat, so the line is now typically shorter.... But still don't want to waste those precious moments. Cruise cash is like OBC. I've seen ppl say cruise cash is non refundable. I've not had a problem since I never load more than I plan to spend; account is backed up by credit card.
Tip: buy that cruise cash with a discounted gift card from All state insurance. Will save you 10% on those.
