  1. I am looking at your CC join date under your profile pic. We both joined 22 years ago just days apart. How about that!
  2. For most of our cruise on the Edge, we just left the separator doors open and the 'balcony' part of the room, when added to the rest of the room felt like one continuous, larger space. At least to us it did. When we did have the window down, while it did not feel exactly like a true balcony, it did feel close enough to us....especially when we closed the separator behind us and made the balcony its own space. The only thing that bothered us a little is that if one person in the cabin was asleep, there was really no way to 'sneak out' to the balcony quietly as the window and the separators make noise. Minor impact though. We have an upcoming cruise on the Beyond and we booked the same type cabin. It worked for us.
  3. The absolute BEST part of a west bound TA cruise is the bonus time you get. Many of your days as you cross will be 25 hour days because you are gaining your time back. Stay out late and get an extra hour of fun or sleep in later and get an extra hour of sleep.
  4. I wish - but part of the reason we love to cruise is to dress up. On a 12-night trip that's 12 dresses/outfits for my wife. This alone takes up one garment bag (and we have big garment bags). I have at least 4 pairs of evening slacks for myself as well. Throw in a European itinerary which requires heavier clothing. That requires more space as well. Perhaps if we were backpacking through Europe in the summer with no need/desire to dress up a carry on MIGHT work but like I said, this is a cruise. We just did a TWO-night trip to the mountains and even that with two carry ons in the car was close. I wore the same pants both nights.
  5. This is all a joke, right? Never, ever less than two rollers and two garment bags for 2 people. You’re going on a cruise, not to WalMart and a Motel 6.
  6. We’d always opt for the newer ship.
  7. What seems odd to me is that the ONLY options we had were early or late. Our TA knows we prefer anytime and this was never an option for her to pick for us so we're trying everything to work around it. 8:30 works well for us. We're more concerned about having the ability to move around to the different venues.
  8. My wife is doing that just now...thank you
  9. Thanks - just tried this and it is not an option. Dining option says 'late' but it is not a valid/active link to click on.
  10. Oh really? Where do I access waiting list? Thank you.
  11. OK - thanks to all. Hopefully we'll be able to change this. We were never actually presented with the option of anything other than early/late.
  12. I seem to remember on Edge we made reservations to all of the four restaurants in advance at whatever time we wanted. Is this no longer a thing or is that something other than late dining?
  13. Been on 20+ cruises so I’m almost embarrassed to ask this. We’re sailing on the Beyond and have late seating. How does that work with all of the dining rooms to choose from? Do we make reservations at a specific venue and just go at the time assigned to late dining? Just not sure what the process is. Thanks in advance.
  14. There really are not any bar lines enough to offset the hassle of bringing your own soda onboard.
  15. Isn't that part of what these boards are for? I believe I heard it somewhere so I came here to try to confirm? Why are so many people jumping on the OP?
  16. I am sure this is referenced somewhere on this board. I did do a quick search but could not come up with a match so if the info is out there and it is easier to just point me to that no worries... We have final payment due on our cruise next week. We booked a flight to Barcelona from the US. Approximately when will Celebrity actually issue those airline tix so I can then work with Lufthansa to reserve specific seats? Thank you in advance.
  17. I have read on the RCCL website that irons and steamers are not allowed. Irons I get......fire hazard. Why no steamers though? On sailings originating in the UK, electric tea kettles are provided in each cabin. Garment steamers utilize essentially the same functionality so it is not a safety concern. Also, the likelihood of lots of steamers being used at the same time is WAY lower than the likelihood of lots of tea kettles being used at the same time so it is not a concern about using additional wattage in the cabins. What gives?
