  1. Again, food is based on an individual's taste, which will get you reviews all over the place. Here is ours.

Week of October 12 on the Oasis. Seafood Shack-- Shrimp good, fish OK. Chops-- Disappointing, food ok at best.

Week of October 20 on Allure. Samba Grill--- Excellant. Giovanni"s--- Very good.

Don't laugh...... Johnny Rocket's--- Excellant. All you can eat for $5. Burgers and onion rings to die for.

  2. Do you know if they have the unlimited internet, if so how does it work, is it pretty fast.

If I remember right, I think it's about $159. I don't know how it works for sure, but it probably works like the normal internet where you enter an access number and away you go. This was the fastest internet we've ever seen on a cruise ship.

  3. Nope, never felt crowded. Whenever a show gets out there is a little waiting for elevators, but never more than a few minutes. Even the pool deck is never crowded. This is one of the most spacious ships and class that I have sailed on.

I disagree. We just got off the Oasis three weeks ago and found just the opposite. Elevators, especially after the life boat drill and the parades int Royal Prommade were almost impossible to get, after they were over. If you go either to the Wndjammer, or Main dining room after, say 9am, expect to wait in line to get in. The same to be said for the Wndjammer, for lunch, after 12:30. Other than these times, it wasn't too bad.

  4. We were on the 12 day wine cruise and the transatlantic, on the Connie this fall. We had heard and read so much about him, we were excited to see what all the hype was about. What a big disappointment. A Liberace wannabe. His voice made me long for the sound of somebody scrapping their finger nails along a chalkboard. Besides Michaels, he did one show, each cruise, as the headliner in the Celebrity Theater. We went the first night. He came out into the audience, before the show started, to pass out undies to his grandma groupies in the front row. After one of his songs, on cue, all the groupies threw the underwear up on the stage. There were no men's undies in the bunch. At that time us, and several people around us had to get up and leave as we had seen and heard enough. Needless to say, we avoided Michaels and the performance the second week.

He does have a loyal following so he must be doing something right. We just didn't see it or hear it.

  5. I watched the price and it did not change with the 123 promotion...so for us, we saved $700 because we would have booked the alcohol package anyways

Are you saying you got the 123 GO promotion and the $809 concierge rate? When I called Celebrity last week and asked that question, I was told one or the other. I naturally too the lower rate. I can buy a whole lot of drinks with the price difference. The rate now, for a concierge balcony and the 123 GO promtion is $1799 p.p.

  6. I just checked it out and for anybody who is interested in this cruise, sans 123 GO promotion, this price is still available. Go to celebritycruises.com and choose transatlantic in April 2013, on the Silohuette. It will show $1799 for concierge, but don't stop there. Go to book it, and follow through. It will show the $809 price and you can book it online, call Celebrity and book it or call your travel agent and see if they will throw in obc or some other perc. I think the cheapest balcony is $709.

  7. The 123 promotion isn't all people think it is. I booked the TA, on the Silouette for this spring. The price with 123 Go was $1499 pp. The price, for the same category cabin, without it was $809 and I was able to use my fcc for a $300 obc. This wasn't booked on a ship though. For us, the free drink package is a waste. We drink beer. If we only drink beer, we would have to have eight beers a day to break even. Being Elite members, we get a two hour happy hour every day. Sea days maybe, but port days, since we usually do tours, it would be impossible. Think about what this package cost "X" for us. On sale, I can get Bud for about $.65 each, including tax. 8 x $.65 = $5.20. On ship that same beer cost over $5 with tip. If you check some of the other threads, other people have figured this out. It might be more convenient, but it comes at a steep price.

  8. Unless you're worried about losing a particular cabin, it behooves you to wait. If you book while on board, your downpayment is only $200. You would be eligible for a $300 obc and up to a three category complementary upgrade depending on availability. For this you have to stay with in the category you booked, meaning you can't move up from an inside cabin to an outside cabin or outside cabin to a balcony.
