Here is the wonderful drink evaluator to help you determine if Cheers is worth it. I did it in August and loved it and I'm doing it on our next one. I can prepay and not have to worry about the bar bill at the end. Order the most expensive thing on the menu. Or get a new drink if mine melts down or I don't like it.
These prices $5.95 for domestic beer and $5.50 for Strawberry daiquiri sem out dated? anyone else think so.

Hey, we're not all hopeless at queuing. The British are really good at it. :D

I have only booked outside of Carnival in Cozumel. If you have kids and/or are looking for an upbeat beach trip - Mr. Sanchos is a great option. If you are looking for a more laid back, adult atmosphere, I recommend Nachi Cocum. Lots of info and great reviews all over these boards and other websites on both.
Thanks I think it may have been Mr. Sanchos. Carnival doesn't offer t his anymore but I can book separately. Also might check out Nachi Cocum it looks nicer.

I remember once on a Cozumel stop we stayed at an all inclusive beach for the day. We booked through Carnival we were taken by van. We got dropped off walked down a sidewalk of shops. Then there was a club house with buffet. I believe two pools; and an EXPANSIVE beach with snorkels, kiaks etc. Open bar and food was included.
To me it looks like it was the "Deluxe Beach Catamaran Sail and Snorkle" excision but we defiantly took a van there, not a catamaran.
I don't think it was the "Chankanaab beach day" because the reviews say the beach is rocky and filled with cliffs. That was not the case at the beach we went to.
I also don't think it was La Casa en La Playa because, again the reviews again say this is not an expansive beach.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what beach I was at? If carnival doesn't offer it anymore I would gladly book outside of carnival.
I also remember the price point mind you this was 2013 was I want to say 60. If that helps determine what beach it was.
Any ideas

OK so I am not condoning coming late I say more than 10 min you just go to the Buffet. .
However, in response to everyone saying that the other diners will be held up, I have never experienced this.
Late dinners or no shows have never effected me at my tables. After a 10 min wait they waiters just start service. And if the late comers show they get hurried and rushed service.(Which of course is rude to the wait staff).
Also, on some cruises the first night on the ship many people don't show to the main dining room. They go to specialty or buffet. I doubt they all tell the maitre D.

I am a loyal Carnival Cruiser. But someone told me to switch over to NCL because although slightly pricier, you get drink and dining packages included in your ticket?
So this is not an add on? like buying a drink package?
Can someone explain thanks! You might switch me over.

I prefer JiJi Asian or the Italian over the steak house.

Thanks!

Even if you don't do ncl I suspect carnival pack and go rates at last minute might even be affordable if you pay for 2 and go alone. Go for it.

Where do I find pack and go rates ?

I have only done Royal Once. And found it no different than my line of Choice Carnival. But I think the problem might be in the OASIS class not RCCL it self. I personally avoid large ships. Much prefer smaller ships with less bells and whistles. There are more staff to passenger ratio, better service and shorter lines. It's cruising for the right reasons, sun and relaxation. My advise avoid the bigger ships! Give RCCL another change if you liked her in the past.

Just broke up with the boyfriend. Wanted to do a cruise asap to get away. Going SOLO. Are there ways to pay little or no single room supplement? By booking last minute are they happy to fill up the space and eliminate the fee?
Any suggestions? Or Am i basically just going to pay double?

So what Ships/Class have your favorite pools?
This is my favorite part of cruising just laying in the sun watching the ocean dip in real quick to cool off.
What ships do you think have the best pools/sundecks.
Although not my favorite Ships I love Spirit Class Pools for the sheer abundance and love watching the wake in the aft pool.
Also want to try Sunshine's Serenity Pool but never sailed her.
Least favorite ship for pools is Splendor. The mid ship pool is deep inside it is always too shady, and feels closefisted like I am in the center of a bad motel. And the giant screen is right on top of you like you are sitting in the front row of the movie theater.

So am thinking about booking on the sunshine if for the only reason I want to try the serenity pool. It is the only carnival ship I know with a pool in the Serenity area? Am i correct?
It looks amazing.... any Sunshine cruisers have anything to add/ Crowded? Nice?
We need small pools in all the serenity areas... no kids!

I love the smaller ship. I think especially for your honey moon. You will want time just the two of you. This ship will be less crowded and your day at sea can be spent sunning on deck just the two of you relaxing no need for zip lining and wave boarding.

Do you all buy insurance through Carnival when you check out. I have never in 6 years of cursing bought insurance. But the group I am going with this time are a little leary.
Is there a way to not book it on all people traveling int he room?
OR should I bite the bullet and just spend the 50 bucks.

Honestly. The chair hog thing never bothered me. Who really uses the pool on the cruise ship? Your not doing laps. I dunk in for a minute to cool off and then back on the lounger to tan. And i lounge one deck up ALWAYS! I would actually rather be one deck up any way: less kids, less crowed, more sun! No chair hogs. Also on Fantasy class I prefer the little wrap around deck area right around the funnel. So quiet. No Hogs
That being said I do wish adults would act like adults and not leave chairs for hours. But I do understand Carnival's hesitation in touching guest items.

Long line well worth it! Better than the awful burgers on Princess. But more to cruising than a burger

WARM CHOCOLATE MELTING CAKE, ceazer salad, spring rolls, Lobster ( thing of the past), Pumpkin soup
-
in my opinion not worth it at all. You are going topay 35 some dollars per person for the excursion ie. just the bus ride and then 90 dollars on a day pass for 4 hours in Epcot.
If you want the Disney fix just go to Downtown Disney it is free. Do the space center instead.
-
I can't remember are they cheaper or more expensive than on land. Are the duty free on the ship?
Keeping in mind I am from Pennsylvania were they are already 9 dollars a pack so most any where else is cheaper. But don't remember what the cruise ship pricing was like.
