  1. We are booked on the May 2 Mediterranean tour leaving from Rome. It is a dream vacation for us and we are still holding out but in the event we can’t go, I’m trying to figure out where else to go for a much needed rest. Has anyone else thought about an alternate place to go?

  2. I was listening to Fox News this morning and they were discussing the virus. The guest was discussing how we got here and where they are in the process of coming up with a cure. At the end of her speech as she was telling everyone how to avoid getting this and she said “Don’t take a cruise”. I am booked on the escape in 76 days and certainly plan on going. Wonder how the cruise lines will react to this.

  3. I have found cigars are very polarizing. Either people like them or hate them, there is no middle ground. I am very respectful of people when enjoying my Ghurka or Baccarat but have a problem when someone comes into the small isolated area smokers have been placed in or sit in close proximity and complain or make their comments and faces. There is nothing better than a relaxing day on the ship with an adult beverage, good company and a fine cigar, not rolled too tight, made of the finest blend of tobacco's from several of the islands we might have just visited.

  4. We've been on both the Alure and the Epic and are booked on the latter in19 days. Loved both ships. You will find things you don't like at either ship but they are the same on any cruise. Sometimes there's too many people, no room at the pool etc. on the Alure there was room at the pool but we had to get there very early, same as on any ship. Entertainment was good on both ships but the Alure's cruise director was excellent. If you are looking for a vacation where nothing goes wrong you won't find it. If something happens just roll with it. At the end look at your experience and judge whether you will do it again. We went on the Sun recently and my wife said she won't go on the smaller ships again, mostly because of the motion and age of the ship.

  5. Has anyone gone to this state park on their own or with an excursion ? Trying to decide if we want to go with NCL or try it on our own. Does admission get you chairs and other amenities or are those reserved for the excursion guests? Also how much is taxi ride? I've seen videos of the park but need some inside info please

  6. In answer to your question. Absolutely yes. The area can get windy at times but it's not too bad. The barstaff is great and will get you anything you need. You will be around the same group of people and hopefully they will be a good group like we had. Well worth the money but you have to get there early to get a pass. I looked through the door to the haven area and thought their area was also very nice so I don't see why people wanted to get to the vibe.

  7. This March will be our 2nd time on the Epic. The ship is different so it generates different opinions as some people can't accept change. The cabins are arranged differently but assuming you aren't rooming with a stranger you will probably already be aware of their "personal" habits. There is no grand mall floor plan with open areas showing elevators and lights moving 8 floors above you so don't expect that. Food was the best we have had on previous cruises, drinks were not hard to get and the entertainment was wonderful. Wife won 2k on the slot machines (a first for us) and we didn't have the drink package at that time so it paid for everything. We had posh passes and that was the best. Private bar with great bartenders. Would do it again except we have grandson with us this time. The only time we saw crowds was during the muster drill and getting on and off the ship. As always cruises are what you make of it. If you are looking for a bad time, you will have one. If you can put minor things past you, you will do fine. If someone is sitting next to you and they are loud, move. If your room steward isn't the greatest, talk to him or her, they will always, always fix the problem. Tipping goes a long way to solving many problems. Crew members work hard and long hours so don't expect them to be all sunshine lollipops and rainbows all the time. Roll with the flow.

  8. Has anyone rented the cabanas on the island? We are sailing in March on the Epic and wanted to know if it is worth the cost. There will be 8 adults and 1 child. Also I assume the food is provided and the drink package carries over to the island. Someone please tell me your experiences.

  9. We sailed the Epic several years ago and are booked in March 2017. Had the Posh pass and thought it was great. The Epic's pool area is vastly different than the Escape with lots of room to move around and spread out. If you want to be with the masses, don't spend your money on the Posh pass but if you want privacy, no kids and a little more fluff, its pretty nice. Go into the sailing with the fact that you won't get them so your hopes won't be built up. It's really just luck of the draw and timing. The lounge chairs are more comfortable, the bar is never crowded but there is no music, no cruise noise, no activities, no pool only some misters. Makes you feel like you're a Haven guest.

  10. We just sailed the Escape 3 weeks ago and saw the show. Mild language but language just the same. Suggestion, don't sit up front. The actors are running throughout the place and you will be constantly turning and twisting to see them. Sit in the 3rd row and you won't miss a thing. Great show, probably the best one on the ship.

  11. Boarding in 58 days. We typically on dine in the complimentary restaurants. There are 3, which should we choose? Are all three similar or is there a "nicer" one? Tia!!!

We just got off on Saturday. Taste and Savor and the Manhattan Room are free and all are good. Same decor in Taste and Savor. Service was good and food was ok. Wife got steak Diane in Manhattan but it was overcooked. Stay away from the ala cart stuff, no need to spend the money. O'Sheans is great for breakfast and bar type food.

  12. We just got off the escape today. We got there at 8.15am on Saturday March 12. Waited at the door till 9.00 and then moved in to the security room. At 9.30 we went thru security and registered, then got a action 2 pass. Now the waiting begins. At approx 10.45 they started boarding. We were in the middle of the terminal thiNking they would open the doors there but they starts ,ovine people at the other end. My wife and her friend started ahead of us and after weaving and wading through the crowd entered on deck 7. Moving with the speed of a cat they went to deck 6 and straight to headliners where they got passes 36 37 39 and 40.. Wow. Lucked out. The vibe is definitely worth it for the week. If you get lucky say hi to Ro Ro and curly.

  13. Funny how cigars will attract or repel people. There's no maybe. RCCL had a good Ida with cigars under the stars where they turned a bar on the top deck to a smoking section at night. Open air with no smoke and a bartender. Problem is with the inside smoking areas they can get crowded and bar service isn't as readily available. I have brought my own on board as well as buying on the islands. Never bought on the ship.

  14. Everyones pictures of the Escape look good however no one ever seems to have any pictures of the H2O area. We are booked March 12 and probably won't get Vibe passes so I would like to see how the area in the back of the ship is during the day. Is the bar a good one? Does the groto area work just as well as the pool?. thanks
