Thank you all so much. I think I am having the same reaction. The things I enjoyed about Aqua just don't seem
Worth the extra investment this time. I had rather out the money toward something more substantial

We have stayed in Aqua class for two transatlantics and love it but the price difference is so much greater this time that I am having a hard time justifying the difference in price.
I am wondering if anyone can give me some feedback on the some of the "perk" differences specifically in reference to:
The robes
Towels
Room Service
Pillow Menu
Yes, I know that everyone loves Blu, so do we but for us it isn't worth the difference in price. I know we won't have daily Hor D'oeuvres. They are nice but rarely that good and I am perfectly capable of walking up the stairs to get my own. The flowers are nice but not that special AT ALL. We get the drinks package so the wine does nothing for us. Love the shower but I think I can live without.
So other than these obvious things (don't need the daily water), what are the differences?

Thank you so very much for this wonderful trip report. I read yours from last year as well and look forward to next years. I read this over several nights and it was like going on the cruise myself.
Keep up the good work. We sail celebrity and are considering this ship for our next trip.

We have sailed both Constellation and Reflection on TA to Rome. Both trips were outstanding. A TA is our favorite itinerary because of all the sea days and the activities aboard on those days. We are in the minority that prefers sea days to numerous port stops. Often we will not even get off the ship in ports we have been to before.
There are pros and cons for M class and S class ships for sure. Although we would take another TA on Reflection in a heartbeat, our preferred choice is Constellation - better layout, less crowded, and more intimate.
Thank you so much. We too LOVE the sea days and Rome is our favorite. I am waiting to hear back from our travel agent to see which is the best option for my pocketbook this year

Thank you for your review. As a regular reader of cruise critic, especially when trying to decide on a trip, I appreciate the time that it takes to post your reviews.
I have been on several cruises but in the last three years, all three on Celebrity Reflection. My partner and I love the ship. Two of those trips have been on the transatlantic from Miami to Rome. We ADORE Rome and it is one of our favorite cities, spending a 7 days there at the end of our first transatlantic and three days this past April. We went on to Venice for few days this past April. We typically sail in Aqua Class.
This next year, due to some other financial obligations, we don't think we will be able to do Aqua Class. I am slowly convincing myself that the cost difference between a regular balcony and aqua is not worth it. We love Blu but for the difference i can pay for speciality restaurants more often.
Having done the TA twice to Rome, we are considering the Constellation to Rome. My major concerns are about sailing on an older ship; not being as large as the S class ships; and crowd. I appreciate your review. I can't say that it tells me not to cruise on the constellation but it is helpful. I would certainly appreciate anyone else's feedback on this topic. FYI: We use the pool, casino, and mostly hang out at the Martini Bar. While we enjoy a nightclub, that doesn't seem to be something that really happens on the Transatlantics.

When I was planning my first cruise on the reflection I loved Librarylady's review of the reflection. There were several others but her's stood out. can anyone recommend the same type of review for the equinox?
-
I know this may seem like such a silly thread, however, I am curious for opinions.
We love celebrity and have sailed the reflection three times now. Once in the Caribbean and twice on the east bound transatlantic. We absolutely love the transatlantic. The days at sea, the ports, etc etc etc. We stay in Aqua class when we cruise.
We currently have a cruise in the spring that visits greece and turkey from rome. However, we are spending a week in greece in three weeks, so we are considering changing our cruise back to a transatlantic. Again, we LOVE all the aspects of the transatlantic.
I am wondering, since we love the Reflection so much, will we be disappointed in the differences with the equinox or will we just enjoy being back on the transatlantic? Again, we love the sea days, etc.
I want some feedback and I realize it is a matter of personal opinion but still want to hear everyone's thoughts.

We were on this same cruise and the staff was wonderful. Not the same cruise as last year but still a wonderful trip. Saw several people from last year as well

We are not visiting venice because we need to do Gay things but wondering what, if any gay things we shouldn't miss or miss in general regardless of being gay.
We will be there in a month.

I agree about the Hilton on the other side of the canal but you get away from the madding crowds here plus they run a free water taxi too San Marcos sg we stayed there last year and loved it had a great roof top pool and bar area
The hotel pool is not open when we are there. I assume it is still too chilly. Do you feel it is worth it over other hotels in Venice?

I am sorry my title confused you but thank you for the response. My ta tells me that it is only a $100 deposit on board if you book a future cruise regardless of the length of the future cruise length

I see that the deposit reads reduced deposit, does that mean that the deposit it dependent on the length of cruise? For example, a 7 day cruise has a lower deposit amount than a 14 day cruise. Or is the deposit $100 per person regardless of the length of the cruise? I have search this an can't figure it out.

I was on the celebrity reflection for my first Celebrity cruise in an inside cabin, then in April in Aqua class, we have booked the same cruise again this upcoming April. I still love to look back at this review and get excited about my trip when I need to day dream. Thanks for your original posting. It still brings a smile to your readers.

I have posted before and know that Pied Piper is also on this cruise. Just seeing if anyone else is out there.

We do the same thing and everything is much cheaper than Miami. We stay at the w. I always use my airline miles to pay for it.

Thanks. Our boss has decided to join us and is worried we will be the only three gays. We have convinced him that is never the case. Knowing there's a group will make him feel better

Aqua Benefits vs. Standard Balcony... and I don't mean blu

Thank you very much. Yes we love the persian gardens as well, but find that we rarely use them. On our last 15 night cruise we went three times. That was because we forced ourselves to use them. I have budgeting in the daily fee if I do choose to go in.
