OP, the K has been in service for several months and in that time she has welcomed thousands of passengers on board. I don't know whether the ship sailed at maximum capacity, but with a passenger capacity of between 2650 and 3194, it is safe to assume that the ship has welcomed more than 20,000 passengers.
Of these, 53 provided a review to CC. Of these 53, 17 rated the experience as Very Good or Excellent, hence the 51% approval rating. Ten rated their experience as Poor or Terrible.
I am not trying to dismiss anyone's experience. My goal is to try and provide some perspective around the CC reviews. We also have a cruise planned on the K and have been carefully reviewing feedback on the ship.
..thank you for the voice of reason!

You don't need to be signed into Twitter to view these photos of the "Dedication" of the Koningsdam. Hope you enjoy!

I'm sorry. You can file a complaint through YouTube but be warned it probably won't do much.
Agree...seems to be true based on their criteria.

I feel your pain LovelyOther. I assume these days that we are all appearing somewhere in someone's vacay or other photos online, accidentally in most cases. I agree it is intrusive but seems to be the world we are living in where privacy doesn't exist anymore with all the social media sharing.
If you feel strongly you should contact youtube and file a complaint. I think they have info regarding that on their site.

Very good video - I really enjoyed it!
It pays to check YouTube every few days. I like the fact that it isn't a "commercial" one by a TA or HAL. someone just showing what it is like to be onboard and the port visits for those considering.

Thanks for the link. I watched the first few minutes, but will watch the rest later this evening when I have the time. What I've seen so far is lovely! :)
Glad you enjoyed the preview! It really is a great video. High quality.

In case you haven't seen these on youTube:
This is beautifully filmed and gives views of ports and ship venues.
https://youtu.be/DuBlmpcpUMQ Love the music they chose! Thanks to the person who took the time to do this.

With all of her photos a la model style and product placement plus the crazy writing, she is hoping for a move to Hollywood next!
Also, she stayed at Strawberry Hill in Jamaica (or so she said) for one night (they have 3-5 night min) at $300 to $500 a night. Did she check what this place pays their Jamaican staff to make sure they weren't unhappy as the cruise personnel LOL
All made for a funny laugh out loud read!

LOL too funny! I'm sure the editors of NYTimes and top dogs sail only inside cabins too.

Beautiful photos! beautiful ship!
I can see the similarities with Celebrity S class as others have mentioned and I recall that interiors were designed by same person.
Thanks for taking time to post your wonderful photos. The food pics are amazing!
Do you know the cost of the elite beverage package being offered?

Thank you for sharing this link. It was a great report on their "day" pass to visit the Koningsdam. Wonderful to hear another cruiser's observations.
Looking forward to cruising onboard next year!!!

Also won "40 under 40" award last year so that fits Celebrity goal of reaching younger cruisers.

Just found this "Tour of the Ship" from this week:

5113 :) Big DAM Balcony :D
How exciting! we have similar cabin/balcony on different deck on Koningsdam. Hope to see more cabins on angles photos.
Thanks, Lisa!

Great photos on his Twitter page. Wonder which cabin he has? huge balcony :-)

Well at least we don't have to worry about adults trying to climb under our balcony divider. On the Reflection 3 years ago we had an 18 month old wander out of the cabin next door and try to join us on our balcony by crawling under the divider. Apparently the doting parents left their door wide open. Only noticed when we yelled "no...stop"
Then there was the baby on our recent 10 day Equinox cruise whose parents thought it cute to put the baby on the floor of the Martini Bar at 6:30pm in the midst of passengers standing and walking through to get to bar and elevators. This was 3 ft from the bar itself.
Sticky floor with drink spills, people not looking down almost stepping on baby is a great video moment since the clueless laughing parents also filmed the baby crawling all over the bar area.
Both babies just victims of stupid parents.

Actually' date=' in our circles, the men love wearing their tuxes and suits. :) :) :)[/quote']
Ditto here, Susan! We look forward to seeing you on the Equinox soon...Barry's got the tux ready :-)

My family and I love dressing up for Formal Nights. I am 21, my sister is 18 and my parents are in their late 40's early 50's. We have noticed that the dress code depends on where you are sailing, and we were actually disappointed on the last Celebrity cruise (Caribbean 2013) that not many people dressed up on formal night.
We don't go over the top but my Dad always wears his Dinner Jacket and my Mum, sister and I wear dresses.
Although long dresses are often out the question, (i feel out of place as no-one wears them anymore!) we always try and co-ordinate!
I wouldn't call this super formal but i still feel overdressed compared to some people!!!!
Lovely! thank you for sharing. So nice to see young people dressing up.
-
Please let me know if you like to bring your suits and dresses on your cruises. Our resident dress code dictators say it's all in the past, but I have seen otherwise.
....Hi Susan! Hubby still plans tux and I my bling and dresses. Will look forward to chatting over Martinis. Love the opportunity to dress up too.

Thanks, Yes I plan to do my Live From and planning on buying the unlimited Internet...figure I will need it :D I hope to see as many cabins as possible and take photos. I am excited about all of the new venues. I know the pictures and concept pictures are not doing it justice.
yay! live report is the best. Thank you in advance. Excited to see all the new venues and designs.

We were fortunate to sail on the Norway a few times. What a lovely ship! I remember the promenade inside and the lounge with the huge statues of Neptune.
Our last cruise on her was a celebration of the SS France 1960s cruising days including a video and photo show in one of lounges showing passenger parties, Elegant and chic passengers (when chic meant something), dogs being walked during transatlantic cruising, deck games. Ship had a lot of history, nautical artwork and beautifully decorated public areas.
With that being said, we are looking forward to the Koningsdam next year and eagerly await the first reviews. Cruiselines are building differently and we either go with the changes or stop cruising.
Koningsdam video was great and we even saw our angled rear facing balcony mid-ship. Love those huge "off the hump" balconies!!

Enjoy your comments. So excited to come back to HAL after Celebrity and other lines. All the TV discussion makes me wonder...is anyone actually looking at the water, seabirds, flying fish??? we are!

Some of you may find this interesting including the Koningsdam mention:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/which-cruise-ship-library-is-right-for-you/2016/06/08/b8ba713a-ff45-11e5-9203-7b8670959b88_story.html
I will say that the library changes to newer ships goes along with their marketing on many ships so I am not suprised. Even my 85 year old mother in law loves her Kindle we bought for her, which we load with books and games for her. She still has some "real" books in her home but now she loves the Kindle flexibility and also enjoys the classical music we've added to it. She can read and listen, and she even plays some puzzle solving games. We were surprised at her willingness to try this as she is usually very resistant to change (i.e stubborn but lovable LOL)
I fought the Kindle for a long time preferring the feel and look of a wonderful book in my hands, but now I am hooked on it too! We enjoy crusing with our Kindles and nothing beats a glass of wine on our balcony, a Kindle book (or several) to read, and some Strauss waltzes playing softly from my Kindle as the flying fish go by!
