  1. A group of friends are sailing on the Silly this February. This group has a tradition of purchasing cruise gifts for each other to be given out prior to embarkation. As such, I've purchased personalized door magnets for each cruiser. Except for their individual names, each door sign is alike in appearance. I also want to give something nice to each person...perhaps a mixer to accompany the sparkling wine we will drink at sail-away? Other ideas?

  2. Elevators on cruise ships are always a hassle. I've been in personal training for the past 3.5 months with a goal of being able to take the stairs on the ship for all floors, for all 7 days. It's enabled me to lose 20 pounds (to date) and lowered both my Hemoglobin A1C and Fasting Glucose levels.

The other trick I've learned, is to take the elevator down a floor, then be on it when everyone else is lined up to board. This works well after muster and dining times. :)

  3. Will sail on the Silly Valentine's Day. I will be with a group of friends from Central Florida and we all behave nicely. There will be a significant number of Canadian visitors and the ones on our Roll Call all seem very nice.

Thank you for your wonderful review. So sorry to hear about DW's jacket. Hope you will consider Celebrity again....

  4. Thanks for all of the info. Personally, I upgraded my drink package through my TA. I have friends who will sail with me who plan to use their OBC to upgrade once on board.

I admit to having expensive tastes in drinks, especially in Crush/Martini Bar and Cellar Masters (as well as wine in the MDR). The Premium package is the way to go for me. Most folks will do fine with the Classic package, unless specialty coffees, martinis and a bigger choice of wines fits them.

Thank you, Celebrity, for posting on this thread! I can't wait to sail the Silly with you in 8 weeks!

  5. I, too, am a recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. My dietician has been very helpful and provided me with a handy-dandy guide that easily counts carbs and food servings. I've lost 7% of my total body weight to date and have clear fitness goals. My trainer is working to help me continue with weight loss and become fit enough to climb stairs on board ship all 7 days of our next cruise.

Thank you for the hint about requesting a sharps container on board. Will do!

In past experiences, Celebrity has done a wonderful job of providing many food and drink choices on board...am SO looking forward to my next cruise!
