Enjoying your review, thanks Ken! Your photos from Luxor bring back wonderful memories of our Nile River cruise in 1998.

Following along. Thanks for the review. Connie seems like a ship I would enjoy.

I would choose the Epic from Rome (not Barcelona). You get the big sights and swim in Cagliari, Mallorca and Ibiza.

I should warn N. American cruisers going on Oosterdam in the coming weeks, that you will only get milk for your coffee or tea. No cream. No half & half.
I am not N. American but this news is not pleasing to me. But thanks for the warning.
I have enjoyed following this thread and will miss it when your vacation ends. Thank you very much for taking us along, and safe trip home.

Onboard Oosterdam and settling in.
We were due to be collected from our hotel at 11.15am and the driver arrived at 11.00 am. We were underway by 11.05. He said it would take 1hour 38 minutes according to google maps. I think he was trying to prove google maps wrong as he drove like a maniac. For the last 20 kms he left the main road and brought us in along the coast road (at a much more sedate pace) and it was a lovely drive.
He pulled up outside the terminal and our bags were taken promptly from us (no tipping!) and we were asked to show our boarding docs and shown to the door of the terminal.
Thank you very much for taking us along. Will be following with interest. We board the Oosterdam on July 2 in Athens. It's our first HAL cruise, and the first cruise since the pandemic. So this is highly anticipated.

Here is a link to the restaurant ripoff story in Mykonos. Check the menu first. Don't order what the waiter suggests without asking the price first.

Thank you very much for posting this. This is horrific!

We are finally on our way home. Instead of getting up at the break of dawn we decided to fly to Heathrow at 2:00 PM today and spend the night at the LHR Hilton Garden Terminal 2 Hotel.
We arrived Terminal 5 and took the Tube (Piccadilly Line) from T5 to T2. It's is free. Just grab a free ticket at the entrance.
It was a short walk to the hotel and while not marked very well were able to bring our Luggage Carts right to the hotel. After getting to the hotel we checked in with United for our flight home via the internet. We had to upload our Positive Covid Test and Covid Recovery Certificate and then wait about 15 minutes before continuing. They were accepted and were able to complete an attestation and then our Boarding Passes were issued. YEA!!! At least we didn't have to stress about taking a covid test.
Safe trip home, Jim & Iain. Thank you very much for sharing your vacation with us.

So my lift and shift was denied. Any thoughts on how to figure out what to do next, or if there is someone that can help with this?
We were also denied. Our cancelled cruise was in April and the L&S options in May = inconvenient time for work. We wanted to shift to July.

Thanks very much GenX for this review. I have enjoyed immensely following you on this adventure, your positive outlook and many tips. You and others who take time to write these reviews are taking away a lot of the pain from this long wait to get back onboard a ship. Christmas and New Year's cruise had to be cancelled because of travel ban against our country.

Thank you so much!
I totally agree. I am going to have withdrawal symptoms now that it is over.

Friends who were booked on a Mediterranean cruise that got cancelled last year, are struggling to make plans with their FCC because the travel agency -- the only one licensed by RCCG here in South Africa -- seems to have gone under. It's been many months since emails and phones were answered. Does anyone have an email address for Royal Caribbean that they can use so they can get assistance directly? Thanks in advance.
