  1. Oh yes I bring the take and toss straw cups with the lid and straws now. But I mean they only have adult cups. So I still bring a few cups for my girls (age 5 & 3) with lids just to not have to worry about spills. Especially in the dining room!

  2. Sounds great! I'm getting very excited for our tour with them! We are doing the extreme tour to Chacchoben and the Bacalar Lagoon. I'm so glad I found that tour and went with them! Sounds like they are a great company to tour with.

  3. Also I have never been to Money Bar, so can't compare, but my husband snorkeled at Chankanaab and said it was great. He also got some underwater photos and it looked like there was a lot to see. At some spots they have statues under the water as well, which seems interesting. I think if you are already there, would be worth checking out!

  4. I did read about the ruins at San Gervasio. Mixed reviews but they still seemed interesting. We decided to do ruins at Costa Maya instead, but may be worth looking into. I had researched just taking a taxi there and they would wait for you. I think that could easily be done in a couple hours time in the morning, as they are not too far from port. Good luck!

  5. You really can spend a whole day at Chankanaab. We always go there for the day in Cozumel. Great place with a lot to do. And they have good snorkeling there as well! Just my opinion, if you are already getting admission to Chankanaab with your dolphin discovery, I would take advantage of that!

  6. Great to hear a good review!! We are going with them in April to Chacchoben. Also glad to hear the walk to their office is easy as well. I have the map but still a little nervous since this is a new place for us.

  7. P.s. little ones are like celebrities on board :) especially that little. The staff just love them! We took our daughter around on the last day to say her "goodbyes" to all her favorite cruise staff. I think we have pictures of her with about 10 of them. They all knew her by name and would always make her laugh and smile. It's still fun to show her those pictures now (she is 5) and tell her how popular she was on her first cruise!

  8. My daughter took her first cruise at 16 months and the stroller was the best thing we brought!! She napped in it just about every day. Stroll around the ship a bit and then she would fall asleep. Then I would just grab a shady spot on deck and let her take her nap in the fresh air! :)

Another tip bring sippy cups and a small dish soap and you can wash them in your cabin. They don't have kids cups really on board. But they will fill up your sippy cup in the dining room.

    Have fun!!

  9. You can see the dolphins pretty much right when you enter Chankanaab! Now how well you can see their swim is hard to tell as there are several sections where they do the swim... But we always watch the dolphins for a bit there!

As far as meeting, the park is big but in my opinion never seems like its crowded really. Probably because its so big. You can easily set a landmark to meet at I would think.

Have fun we love Chankanaab! Going back for the 3rd time in March!

  10. Take a small umbrella stroller if you can. Comes in handy around the ship and at ports. Bring a couple of sippy or straw cups (whatever he likes) as they don't have kids cups. Remember to take them with you to the dining room! Bring a sand pail and shovel if you plan to do beach days at port, which I recommend! Shoveling in sand and dumping it out kept my toddlers busy for hours at the beach!

Don't want to inundate you with you much :). Both my girls did their first cruises at 16-17 months and loved them! Have a great time!

  11. I'm pretty sure the last cruise I was on that all the kids in the little kiddie pool had on swim diapers! It is just a little round pool very shallow on the ship we were on (triumph). I don't think kids much older than 3 would enjoy it much, but my 17 mo old did! My 5 yr old liked the splash area of the water park spot (like by the slides).

  12. We were at Atlantis this past March. I thought it was great. We had our kids with us so paid for the dig and their beach and it included lunch. There is a water park too but we didnt do that as our girls were too young really for all the slides and stuff. We had a great day there and enough to do to spend the day. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon cruise in 2007 and just did the digs and explored the grounds and also had a great time. I didn't feel that it was much different this past trip than it was when we went 6 years ago. Hope that helps!

  13. My little ones loved Atlantis at Nassau. I think both yours may be free at their ages. The water taxi to get there is nice too.

For the other poster a taxi to Sea Grape on seven mile beach at grand cayman is great. There are some shady spots they can play in the sand and its not a far ride from port.

Cozumel for kids we go to Chankanaab every time! One of our all time favorite places!

My girls are 5 and 3 and have been cruising every year since 16 mos. :)

  14. We have a 5 and 3 year old who have been on several cruises. They love the dining room I just bring a few small toys. They do shows and dancing in there and can get out of their seats and dance around! We mostly do camp for sea days I let them pick what activities they want to do. They love camp! Also the splash water areas are great. We usually just go with the flow for naps and bedtime. When they are tired then go to sleep. I don't worry if they are up a little late! Bring sand pail and shovel do beach days!! Have a great time!

  15. Oh this was our first cruise too! You will love it! I recommend the Junkanoo beach club at Freeport and Atlantis in Nassau. We were just back on this cruise for our 6th this past March and did these 2 spots. Loved both days! Have a great time!!

  16. We were delayed embarking at port of Tampa a couple years back due to fog. FYI there is a really nice aquarium right across from the port, great for killing time! They even had a splash water park area and we could see the ship finally pull in from there. They gave us a discount too since we were waiting on the ship. Made the wait not seem so bad.

  17. Both of my daughters did their first Carnival cruise at 16 months. Loved every minute of it! Hung out by the pool with snacks, danced to music on deck, explored the ship... My tips would be take a small umbrella stroller, usually around nap time I could walk around the ship with her in that to fall asleep. Also handy for ports. Bring a sand bucket and shovel and do beach days in port. My girls would both just play in the sand for ever at that age!
