  1. We were just on the Dream in March. My 5&3 year olds LOVED the Dream!! The waterworks is great. And the camp carnival on the Dream was fantastic! I understand the hesitation of 7 day for the first cruise but its a nice mix of sea and port days. And you can't beat having a balcony especially with the kids. Nice to be able to enjoy the balcony when the little ones are in bed. I highly recommend the Dream!

  2. Atlantis is great for toddlers! My girls loved the aquariums and there is a little beach area with a lagoon perfect for young kids. You don't have to pay for the waterpark since that is separate and they would be too little. But I highly recommend Atlantis and if you take the water taxi over that is fun too :)

  3. Yes!! My older daughter (5) ordered a fruit plate every night and her entree off the adult menu most nights. She loves that she can order whatever sounds good on the cruise and try different things! Then I have my 3 year old who ordered cheese pizza every night. :) beauty of cruising!!

  4. If you choose the Dream (which I highly recommend!) there is a bar on deck 5 right next to the Taste bar that was a nice spot for before dinner drinks! Great bartenders and not too crowded but still a fun atmosphere. Have a great time both itineraries sound fun!!

  5. We just took our 5 and 3 year olds on the Dream and they loved it! The Camp was great, good counselors and a lot of variety in activities. Also they loved the little kid water park area they have 2 smaller slides perfect size for them. I think any ship of this class would be great!

  6. Yes they said we had to dock at the other terminal due to the repositioning cruise. But other than saying that they weren't specific as to why. It wasn't that bad they had shuttles to take us over to our car. Other than having to wait for the shuttle to fill it didn't add too much extra time. They took us right to the deck our car was in. Not as ideal as going back to the same terminal but they handled it well at least.

Sorry your embarkation wasn't easy there because that is one thing I love about Canaveral is the easy embark. I'm sure the other terminal had something to do with that too right?

  7. I agree I think it has to do with why you are getting it and how you value that benefit against the $50 cost. We had FTTF for our Dream cruise this past March and it was worth every penny to us. But we are a family of 4 with 2 young kids so we have a lot of carry on stuff. We boarded by 11:30 and it was worth it to us to not be waiting long with the kids to board and also going right to our room. Also Belize was one of our ports and passing up the giant tender line to get right on was also well worth it to us. Back before we had kids and it was just the 2 of us I probably wouldn't have even thought about getting it because it wouldn't have had as much benefit to us then. But in our case this time I thought for $50 it was well worth it!!

  8. I know this is about Camp dining but just wanted to chime in about the MDR in case any new cruisers with kids are reading! I have a 5 and 3 year old who have been on several cruises and the dining room dinners are one of their favorite parts! They are always treated special by the waiters who a lot of times have kids at home and love seeing the kids on the ship. They get to choose their meal and dessert from the kids or adult menu! My older one loves this as she is a more adventurous eater. She got salmon and shrimp etc while the 3 year old got cheese pizza every night. Lol. And they get up and dance with the waiters when they perform which is most nights. My girls like to do dinner with us and then usually to camp for some of their evening activities. I just wanted to give my take and my kids enjoyment of the MDR since its always such a great experience for us!

  9. How fun! Our kids have been on several cruises but never a surprise. We are thinking about surprising them at Christmas this year with a New Years cruise! My younger one is 3. We just sailed on the Dream end of March. She loves cruising her favorite things are Camp Carnival (they are great with the young ones!) and the water park area. The Dream had little kid slides she could have played on those all day. Also for port days they love the beach and we always bring sand toys. Have a great time it is a great age for cruising!!

  10. Hi I haven't done this on the Magic but recently did on the Dream. We upgraded from a deck 8 verandah inside to a deck 9 vista balcony and we were aft port side. We didn't have any issues with noise and we sailed with 2 young children so we were typically in our room by 10 or so. No problems!! We loved the location!!

  11. We did this exact thing last year with a short cruise then Disney! It was great my kids were 4 and 2 then. I didn't think it was any more or less of a party atmosphere. As always I think it's what you make of it. We loved having the relaxation of the cruise before our busy days at Disney! Have a great time!

  12. Hi there... We were just at CC last week. Though it wasn't on a tour my husband did some snorkeling just off the dock at the split. He said it was pretty good he saw some starfish and a stingray among others. So in case you can't find a shorter tour to your liking you may just want to try on your own. We loved CC! Have fun!

  13. I second Caye Caulker! Just went there last week at our Belize stop and it was lovely. Nice ride over on the water taxi, little beach area at the split (they say its not a typical beach but my girls sure found places to play in the sand!), and Belikins at the Lazy Lizard... Not too shabby! My husband saw starfish and a stingray while snorkeling too. I would definitely go back again!

  14. If you can post the camp schedule that would be much appreciated! I have an old one but it would be great to see a recent one!

I'm thinking about letting my girls do the first late night party since they shouldn't be too exhausted yet :)
