  1. FYI Coconuts has some cool animals for kids to see. (birds, cats etc., if I remember right). It's a neat place to explore.

I think your kids would like some time at Punta Morena, then to Coconuts and back stopping at Punta Sur for the crocs and lighthouse if you like. Sounds like a fun day if you ask me!

After lots of research I think we are going to do just this! Punta Morena and Punta Sur with a sight seeing stop or two between. Now looking up drivers :) the kids hop sounds fun but I like the flexibility of being able to stay however long we want at one spot. Thank you so much for your help and suggestions!

  2. [QUO TE=Bluestar01;45109508]Thanks for your reply, do we buy Atlantis passes on the spot? I saw some excursion thru the cruise company, but not sure how it rates, the review has fewer stars! Hope winter month water temps do not cause an issue

We have always taken the water taxi over to Atlantis and bought the passes right there on the spot. It is easy to do on your own, I don't think I would go through the cruise ship. Last we were there was in February and the water temps were fine!

  3. Do you know if the transport is just for your party? Are they flexible if you need to return early? I have been to Punta Sur before but not since this beach club has new management.

I'm not sure... Hopefully someone can answer who has already done it!

  4. We have a party of 6 so the papitos price with transportation is a good deal for us. It says 5 hours and we are traveling with 2 young kids so that will be enough time for us. I'm not sure about adding on time as I didn't ask that question. And yes you do book through shore excursioner, I posted the link because someone had asked about a la carte menu prices. :)

  5. I've emailed about the $35 trip and got a response. $35 is for kids over 2 and adults. Includes round trip transport and a guided snorkel tour, you can also snorkel on your own. You can add on AI when you get there if you wish. I found the menus with food and drink prices on the papitos website. We are considering either this for our April Coz stop or the kids beach hop. Basically I'm trying to decide if we want to see more places or just stay in one spot for the day! Tough decision!!

  6. Yes I agree with Mitsugirly that Blue Lagoon is great as well. We did a stingray swim there a while back and enjoyed spending the day there. Beautiful spot!

  7. We made reservations through Shore Excursioneer for Jan. 2015. Have 9 going, 22-79yrs of age, booked for the transportation, admission and snorkel trip, not everyone wanted to eat and drink all day. We'll report upon our return :D

That is the exact excursion we are considering for March! I look forward to reading how you liked it!

  8. If you want a beach day we took a taxi over to Junkanoo Beach last time in Freeport and had a great day. Nice beach, little restaurant/bar with shade, and a little shopping area. We would definitely go back there!

  9. I would also say the Atlantis! A pricier option yes but you get what you pay for! Been there once before kids and once with our girls. Worth the money each time! We tried to walk to Junkanoo our last trip, and were disappointed. Headed back to the water taxi and went over to Atlantis again instead. Glad we did!

  10. I second the water taxi!! It's a fun ride over and you see some sights. Cheap and fairly quick. The water taxi is close to the ship, and once you get off they will point you in the right direction to Atlantis. Easy to do on your own!

  11. We have been to Nassau in late December, mid February, and April and every time had gorgeous weather! Been to Atlantis twice, there is a pass you can do for the aquarium and beach area and leave out the water park. You can take the water taxi over on your own, which is a fun trip and you get to see some good sights, then spend the day at Atlantis. Also there is a big shopping area you walk right through to get there. Its a fun day!

  12. Somebody on one of the cruise groups on that other site to not be name, posted an album of pictures from a very recent Kids Hop. Looks like they were having a blast! Adults, too.

Oh good to hear! Is that an open cruise group? Would love to see pictures!!

  13. Anyone out there who has done this and would be so kind to let me know how you and your kids liked it? I know the bar hop gets great reviews so looking into this one with our kiddos! Thanks!

  14. I will also mention that when we exited the tourist area and went towards the water taxi area, there was a very nice gentleman from another tour excursion operator who guided us to the water taxi, made sure we got the correct tickets, and a schedule of the return times. I found everyone in Belize genuinely nice and helpful. We tipped him of course for his help. I'm sure we could have found it just fine on our own, but being our first trip to Belize and with the kids, it was nice to have a local helping us out!

  15. I am also looking at the Cozumel Kids Hop now, as the bar hop has so many good reviews! It stops at Punta Morena, Chen Rio, and Paradise Beach. Does that sound like a good mix to see some of the East side? Not too excited about Paradise but I'm sure my kids would like it. My only concern is a little over an hour at each stop, will it feel like we just get somewhere then have to go? Oh decisions decisions! Right now I'm considering the kids hop or just a day at Punta Sur/papitos. Thanks in advance again for any advice!
