Just curious. I know other cruise lines do. You would think, with the nice Meet and Mingle get togethers that they host, someone might actually be reading the boards as well?

Probably not, MSC has had the same customer service and IT issues for years. And now with all the Interlopers in the YC,

    where will it end?

    Hi,

How long does it take for the points to get annotated? It has been more than two weeks since we disembarked and I still can't see those points.

    Thanks

We took a cruise in January, points not posted by end of February. Emailed MSCvoyagersclub several times with with no action taken.
Finally emailed MSCvoyagerscub and copied MSCExistingReservations@msccruisesusa.com, within a week, points were issued.

    Hi

Looking at a catamaran excursion in Cozumel directly booked with MSC.

Where do i find reviews for it?

    Thxs

I don’t think there are reviews on MSC site. Try looking at TripAdvisor, search FURY CATAMARAN, SNORKEL & BEACH. You may get reviews from various cruise ship patrons.

Well this just makes me NOT want to sail on MSC.   And I think that if I am in YC, I should at least once a cruise be allowed 1 guest to come in for a couple of hours to visit. Not too much to ask for a couple of hours. Perhaps that person wanted to test out the area to see if it was something they wanted to book on next cruise.

Sounds to me like YC folks are looking around trying to notice who they can chase out.  Keeping score just a bit. It sounds a bit snotty.

It is one thing to drag in 2-3 folks in every day but just 1 person for a one time only visit should be allowed.  They could add $10 or so to my room bill if I wanted a guest for just a couple hours to sample.  nope MSC might not be for me.

Hoping you have a good time on the other cruise lines!!!

If you have sailed MSC in Europe and the Caribbean, was your experience as good in Europe?

We sailed on Sinfonia April of 2019, on a 12 night Mediterranean cruise. We had a very good time. This was our first on MSC, Sinfonia is one of the older, smaller ships, but there was enough to do during the evenings, to keep us busy.

Announcements were in several languages, but the announcements were few and far between on our sailing.  The shows were good, food was good, and enough English speaking passengers onboard to talk with.

    Would absolutely do again!!

Meraviglia will be sailing to Bermuda out of Brooklyn.

I know they are hoping to expand into other US markets like Galveston, Alaska, Wester Riviera. It all takes time and ships. Especially for new home ports, they need to work out a lot of details WAY in advance with those ports. I am happy to see them home porting in Brooklyn now and can't wait for them to add more.

Also sailing to New England and Canada.

We are in our hotel, Laguadia Plaza, and it was nice and clean. We got in about 8:30 last night. Caught to shuttle to the hotel pretty easily and we ordered Chinese food through Uber eats and it was pretty good.
The Meraviligia was running late last night about three hours however they made up about 2 hours and docked at 7:15 this morning. We are getting dressed and heading to breakfast and plan to catch a ride with a new Tesla rideshare called Revel. When you download the app you get 50% off your first ride within 72 hours of account setup. We had some friends use that yesterday and it worked well.

I will post more through the morning and day.

Ok, first day was a long one. We slept in a little and went to breakfast at the hotel buffet at 9:30. We had seen reports that due to weather the ship was delayed by 3 hours. But during night she caught up by 2 hours and docked at 7:12. So we thought we’d get there about 12 or 11:30. We had 10 am check in time.

We used for the first time an app by Revel. They have a Tesla only rideshare and offers 50% off on your first ride. It was $43 before discount. Had plenty of trunk space for two large suitcases and we put our backpacks in our laps.

It was a cool car and plenty of space for feet and knees. They picked us in in less than 5 minutes at 10:35. We got to the port at 11:18. From there it took until 1:30 to cross the gangway on the ship.

Once onboard we knew we needed to make reservations for our specialty dining package, $71 per person  for 3 meals. They were taking reservations at Ocean Cay and Butcher’s Cut. It was  a slow line. After standing in line for 15-20 minutes a friend let us know that Hola! had someone taking reservations and no line. There were actually 2 people there making bookings. We also made reservations for the shows in the theater. There are 4 shows. The show tonight will be “Cool”.

Thankfully, in about 15 minutes, we  got our reservations for dining  and  both Carousel shows, Houdini and Rock Circus ($5 per person per show because we bought a specialty dining package). Without the dining package the shows were $12 in advance and $18 once onboard.

By this time they had made announcements that rooms were ready. We went to the room and dropped off backpacks and rested a few minutes. We bought an internet plan for 1 person 2 devices before boarding at a discount. It was cheaper to buy the plan for 1 person  with 2 devices than 2 people with one device. It’s a little complex to have another person have a device but we got it all working where we both had the app login with each profile and had internet on each device.

We left our cabin to go get a drink and they called for muster and go to our cabin and watch a video and call a number. After that we went to our muster station and scanned our card. When muster drill was over we were already leaving the dock. We were in the casino on deck 7 and was able go outside on the starboard side and grab some cool pictures of the Statue of Liberty.

We then went to The Brass Anchor and got a bottle of water and’s an Irish car bomb by combining a can of Guinness Pub Draft, a shot of Jameson, and a shotof Bailey’s Irish Cream. We have the Easy Plus drink package (it covers up to $10 and you just pay the difference if it costs more). We missed seeing the ship pass under the Veranzzano bridge. But we got some pictures of the skyline.

We then went to the buffet (at the back) and got a couple of pieces of pizza and a piece of Espresso cake and rum cake. Both cakes were good and the espresso cake was phenomenal! The pepperoni pizza was pretty good. I prefer thin crust slightly crusted and these were hand tossed so the crust was slightly doughy. But it really has a nice flavor. The cheese pizza to me didn’t have a lot of flavor, not bad,  it just didn’t have much flavor. We will try the others as we go.

We were able to get a table with an aft view outside. After we ate the snack. We then went to deck 6 to the gelato place and got some ice cream. I got a scoop of banana and chocolate ice cream. Delicious! We head back to the room still worn out from the lines. I went to the Sky Lounge and got a water and a strawberry daiquiri. It was great. Checked out the smoking lounge and it was nice with a nice view.

It was then time for dinner so we found our table. We have a table for 8 with sone friends in the cruising community. Some we’ve met before and some we’ve only seen in chats. We had great servers. It took about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We both really enjoyed the food. After dinner we went back to the room to do a few things. And I went back to the Sky Lounge for a double Jameson and ginger (I call it an Irish Redhead) and hung out a few minutes in the smoking lounge. They sell cigars there. So I may be getting one. I really likethe Sky Lounge.

We went back to the room and unpacked. Man there is a shortage of space to keep stuff. But we got all situated and chilled out in the room until the 9:30 show Cool. Once the show was over we came back to the room and went to bed.

Let me tell you that I was in to the show the moment it started. They are very talented people and the songs were fun and nostalgic and full of energy.

We are both really liking the ship and just starting to figure out getting around. I’ve gotten drinks with a minimum amount of effort at several bars. We have tissues, we have face towels, hand towels, floor towels, and bath towels. We asked for ice and it was the at turndeorwn service. We’ve encountered many    nice crew. The entertainers in the show “Cool” are very good.

On the Mera in October, looking forward to your reviews!!

I may bring a pair of my Chacos for this. We don’t seek the shade too much at the beach. I like working on my tan. Although after a few hours I may want some.

You would think they would move us to the nicer beach across the street and provide the drink service there. I’ve also heard it’s rough water at our beach.

Depending on weather and wind direction, the water can be rough at YC beach.

To me, the better beach/ water, are the beaches that surround the lagoon. (Disregard the red circle)

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

Checking in at 10:00 does not necessarily mean boarding at 10:00. We sailed YC on MERAVIGLIA in January out of Port Canaveral, there were several groups late debarking. This caused boarding to be after noon for YC and non YC.

Also, YC embark area, unless they changed, is just an extension of the main boarding area, separated by a low wall.

Hi all. We disembarked the Meraviglia from Brooklyn yesterday. This was only the 3rd sailing from Brooklyn so if anyone has any questions let me know. We really enjoyed out trip and didn't have any complaints (except for the way some passengers behaved) -more on that later. We usually cruise on Royal and there were 3 things that we really liked better then RC. 1) We thought the food was much better. 2) The drinks were cheaper (example-2 glasses of wine at dinner was $11.80. On Royal it was $18. 3) The tips were cheaper too. They were $14.50 per day per person. On RC they were $16 per day per person.

We were in a deluxe balcony forward BELLA and only went to one show Rock Circus at $18pp. It was good but I don't think it was worth the extra charge. We did not do a drink package, wi-fi package, or specialty dining package although we did eat at Hola's one night and it was VERY good. I will post more info about embarkation, debarkation and the ship and islands later.

Looking forward to your review, we embark from Brooklyn in October!!

On shore, we are used to full body massages wearing nothing.

On MSC, she had me put on the paper underwear, which were not relaxing at all.

When I wear normal underwear, they move them all around anyway.

Since we can't go without them, what are other guys doing/wearing for their massages?

    Thanks.

In 2019, we took Sinfonia on a Mediterranean cruise. Our package included the massage. I was handed the paper underwear, which barely covered anything. Put them on just for the novelty of it. My wife did not put them on, just used her underwear.

Hey everyone!! I hope all is well. I’m looking at booking my excursions for our upcoming cruise in December. I was thinking about getting a cabana when we go to Ocean Cay. We have cabins in the yacht club and I was looking at the yacht club cabanas. So, can you tell me if they are worth the extra money and which one is better (beachfront or ocean view)? I remember seeing in a post that one side is full of rocks and one is closer to the yacht club restaurant, but I can’t remember which one is which. Also, if you can tell me which side is best for water activities such as swimming.

    Thank You,

    D

Beachfront are the cabanas that face the YC beach, whereas the oceanview cabanas face a rock sea wall.
Is it worth the cost, depends on you. There are loungers with umbrellas available for no cost.
In 2019, we had a cabana, that included a bottle of champagne and bottles of water, floating mats, and snorkeling gear.

We'll be on for 2 weeks in September, after 3 days pre-cruise in Miami, so I know we'll have some laundry. If I pre-purchase a 20 piece package, can you split it up, or do all 20 pieces have to be done at the same time?

I’m hoping if I order two of the 10 piece, I can use them separately, probably day 3 and day 7.

Are there any free drinks on the ship? I know that soda is a charge and I don't drink alcohol.

The buffet has machines that dispense water, tea, lemonade, apple juice that are free.  Also an ice cream machine!!

Well, in this case, it’s a question of flexibility one sometimes experiences onboard. 😁

Beamafar, I have been know to tip very generously, especially when I have a few Gols Rush in me!!! LOL

I receive a publication called "Travel Weekly" and an article entitled "Margaritaville at Sea working to build advisor appeal" was in the latest issue.

In the article they mention adding additional ships in the future but nothing is imminent but currently the emphasis is increasing those doing cruise & stay packages including Nassau. "Margaritaville has a resort in Nassau, which he called "a very logical extension for us in the future."

You can read the entire article here:

    https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Margaritaville-at-Sea-working-attract-travel-advisors

We were on MAS last weekend, 1100 passengers, in order to gather n repeat passengers, they will need a ship that offers more than one or two bars open during the day, more the a few extra dining venues, and venues for kids. There were more children ( teens and younger) on the cruise than I had seen before. Palm beach can only handle small ships, so either Port canaveral or Ft. Lauderdale, competing with larger cruise lines.
