  1. I couldn't believe it last November when we were in our hotel room and my friend got a call with a 305 area code.  I told him to answer it.  I knew it was Florida.  We got upgraded from an inside cabin to a balcony cabin.  For Free!!!  I was surprised as I thought those days were long gone.  We ran into two other people who also got upgraded from inside to balcony while driving to the port.

Specialevents(ship name)@ncl.com is what I used last year for the Gem and more recently for the Escape in setting up the M&M - and, got a reply within 24 to 48 hours from Miami HQ (exclude weekends) pending further confirmation from the ship.

Have you checked your spam mail folder, just in case - I used my MSN/Outlook account for contact purposes and I've seen some "strange" emails being marked spam & diverted ... Give them another business day & hopefully, they will get back to you next Monday, that you aren't sailing for at least another 2 to 3 weeks, to allow ample time to put the words out - once confirmed for everyone on the Roll Call to catch up.

Thanks.  I check the spam folder too.  I have an MSN account too.

I am coordinating a Meet & Greet on the Gem in May.  I sent an email on Nov 8 and heard back from them today.  So, depending on when your trip is they may just be processing them when they can. I sent my request to: SpecialEventsGem@ncl.com so give it some time.

Thanks so much.  I used specialeventsstar@ncl.com, so  hopefully I will hear from them in a week or so.

  4. I have contacted NCL about a Meet and Mingle.  I have used the old format that is at the top of the forum that says groupevent@ncl.com it says to insert ship name so my meet and  mingle should be groupeventstar@ncl.com.  This doesn't work and didn't work on my Bliss cruise.  I found somewhere to use specialeventsstar@ncl.com.  I tried this yesterday and am still waiting for a reply.  If anyone has any other information on how to contact the cruise line to set up a meet and mingle please advise.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  5. I have been on Carnival 16 times, Princess several times and RC 3 times.  I have been on two NCL cruises and I loved them both.  I was suppose to go on the NCL Bliss in October but my friend had to cancel.  I loved all my cruises.  I am not a foodie so I generally can find something I like to eat.  I like the free at sea on NCL.  We usually book inside cabins so we both get the drink package.  Even after paying the gratuity on the drink package we definitely get our monies worth.  I never thought I would try other lines, but I am glad I did.  Give it a try and then if you find it's not for you go back to RC.

  6. I was on the Norwegian Jewel 2 years ago and I won $60-$120 every time I played.  I don't know the overall total, but I paid for all my purchases in port with cash and left the ship with more money than I left with.

On the Carnival Elation one time I was playing let it ride poker and I got the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Nine of diamonds.  I won about 750 for that hand the royal flush would've been 17,500.  Those were the two times I did really well.

  7. I use to go to Stone Island with Randi's Happy Horses.  Horseback riding through the groves of trees and along the beach.  It is now called Maria's Happy Horses as Randi died several years ago.  It was a great excursion.  They pick you up outside the port area and transport you to the boat to Stone Island and then you meet your horse.  After riding they take you to a restaurant where you can purchase food and beverages and play in the water if it's warm enough.

  8. Once you get off the tender there are shops and bars right there.  I have walked to Cabo Wabo before.  It's not really that far if you don't mind the walk.  I don't bother anymore as I have been there a lot of times.  It will be pretty quiet as it is daytime.  Fun to do if you haven't been before.  You could also get a taxi or a pedi-cab.

NCL does have a dress code.  It's usually long pants in one of the main dining rooms and in the French restaurant.  No baseball hats during dinner.

I was in the dining room on NCL in the dining room that requires long pants and a collared shirt.  I saw a waiter ask a guest to please change his shirt as it was a t-shirt with some sort of cartoon on it with no collar.  I was surprised because I have never seen anyone turned away on any other cruise I have been on.

We've gone to it on both of our cruises and will on the next two cruises we have planned. However, I have panic attacks in large groups of people and last time we got there right after they called it. I was in the row right against the wall with a ton of people in front of me. I started freaking out a bit and hyperventilating. Next time will wait till the majority of people go in so I can be in the front. Really started my cruise off badly. I just couldn't believe how many people they packed into such a small place. My poor DH. He knew what was going to happen when they kept putting people in front of us.:(

Go to guest services next time and explain about your situation they will send you with the disabled group.  I have mobility issues and I always see others that have come to the disabled group for your situation.

I have one cruise booked with an "Adult Beverage Package" and another cruise booked with an "Ultimate Beverage Package". Anyone know if there is a difference between the two, if so what the difference is? I looked on NCL and could only find ultimate and soda packages.  I'm hoping the "adult" is not limited to alcohol. Thanks

With the alcohol package you get Beer, Wine, mixed drinks and soda.  No specialty coffees or bottled water is included.

Oh that's good information, thank you! I swore I saw that one of them had a small pool but maybe I was looking at a newer ship.  Regardless, thanks again for the heads up!

The Miracle had a pool but that is a Spirit class ship.

  13. My friend and I are booked for February 2020. We go on cruises to Mexico 1 or 2 times a year. We are going for the ship on this trip. We were booked on the Norwegian Bliss this October but had to cancel at 4 weeks out. I can't wait to try this new ship. I also like that the Dome is now being used for check in. I saw a you tube video about it. We always get a hotel and then take the free shuttle. Good luck with whatever you decide.

  14. On my Miracle cruise last November, my friend got a phone call with a 305 area code right before we were ready to head to the port. He asked me where is 305 and I said Florida so he took the call. We got upgraded for free from an inside to a really nice balcony. We met a few other people who also got a call the morning of the cruise.

I was somewhat surprised as I thought free upgrades were a thing of the past. Guess it just depends.

  15. I am also wondering about taking food around the ship, I have read it is pretty common to move from place to place with your food and drink.

Just wondering are you allowed to take food into the main show room, comedy club and casino.

If so is there anywhere you can not take your food and drinks? e.g. arcade, gym or library.

People have said they have taken food to the main show room and comedy club, I wouldn't do it because the seating isn't really good for trying to eat food. Drinks absolutely.
