  1. GTY can give a FREE upgrade. But the suite you get can be (even a upgrade one) be poor if it is aft or something like that.

First time we had a GTY we got an upgrade. The upgrade suite had the nespresso and the binocular and lucky it was on a good location.

  2. Back to the topic:)

Just received extra info from Regent about our trip/cruise and also a small Shanghai change.

Arrive: SAT 25MAR17 Shanghai, China 01:30 PM (was 02:00 PM)

Depart: SUN 26MAR17 Shanghai, China 02:00 PM (was 04:00 PM)

So that is not a big change but our day trip on the second day was 08:00 for 7h. Now 07:00 for 7h:rolleyes: So we be back round 2PM and the ship is leaving at that moment . I think the duration time of the trip will be shorter.

  3. We are going to China and Vietnam with Regent. In the info it says. You must do China by "yourself" and Vietnam can be done on board.

For the China one I will use a compagny like CIBT but before I decide about the Vietnam one: "How much does it cost to let Regent do it on board"?

Be aware that the visa don't stay long so you have to do it just on the right time just before your trip.

  4. Hereby most of the answers. But I am sure more people will react :)

    1. Is there a Maitre 'd in La Veranda for breakfast and lunch, or do you just seat yourself anywhere you wish? I know it is a buffet, but in the equivalent restaurant on Silversea, you are seated by the Maitre 'd at every meal.

It is selfservice/selfseating. But if you need help no problem

    2. Is wine served with your meal at lunch in La Veranda?

You can choose the kind and how often you want

    3. We are confused about the suite mini-bar. The brochure says it will be "personalized" and replenished daily with soft drinks, bottled water, and beer. Is that all that is offered? Can we get full bottles of wine or liquor in the suite as is offered on Silversea? We are in a deluxe veranda suite if that makes a difference.

    Yes all is possible

    4. Is a pillow menu/choice of pillow available?

This one I don't know for sure. But there are allready more then one kind of pillow on the bed

    5. Is self debarkation available if we wish to carry off our own luggage on the last day? If not, can we choose our debarkation time or is it decided by suite/deck/status?

Yes you can do it yourself

    6. Is room service breakfast available the last morning?

I don't think so but I am not sure

    7. Does anyone know how many treadmills are in the fitness center?

I don't know how mucht it was, but we never had to wait

    8. Finally, is it really true I will not feel out of place without a sports jacket at dinner? I know what the brochure says, so I will not bring one, but I just want to make sure.

This is true and what I like of Regent (and Azamara).

  5. In time for trivia--we won, though we missed two questions. What color does acid turn litmus paper? I said pink because in my office, the litmus paper we have turns pink. The correct answer was listed as red, but I still think pink is correct as well.

And what is the largest country in Scandinavia ? Apparently it is Sweden, but we thought Norway. I am going to have to look at a map, because I could have sworn there is a large amount of Norway far up north. We were in Nordcapp once, and I know there is more of Norway past that. Sweden must be really fat.

    And here are the answers:)

When blue litmus paper is dipped in an acid, it turns red. When red litmus paper is dipped in an acid, it just appears to get wet

    Norway: total: 323,802 sq km

    Sweden: total: 450,295 sq km

  6. We did HAL 2 times on the smaller ones and did the Journey on Xmas. Azamara is overal better.

    Real pro's

    - If you look at the prices for HAL with real balcony and than the prices with the included tips and drinks on Azamara. The Azamara price is same or better.

    - Officers (incl the captain) are more mixed with the passengers and easy to talk with/to

    - selfservice restaurant on HAL is real selfservice. On Azamara it is buffet with lot of help.

    Con's

    - The very small bathroom (douche)

    - I think food in main restaurant is better on HAL (but as always this is personally taste/feeling)

    - Shows are a little better on HAL

  7. Two reactions:

Unless my math is off, $.05/minute works out to $72/day for unlimited wifi. Yikes!

Do it the otherway around: 69,95/24/60=0,04857. So almost 0,05

DH bought the unlimited yesterday on the Journey. It had to be bought in the first two days of the cruise and was around $25 per day.

A 10 night cruise is 10 days and a little. You can start somewhere in the afternoon on the first day and it will be ended at the last night. So If you devided your total amount well than $25 a day is a good price, because some other wrote

10 days for $350 and now i am paying $385 for 12 days
  8. we are in cabin no. 7019. does anyone know if the bed is on the left or the right as you enter the room from the corridor?

We had 7021 on the Journey. Your bed is with the head to the front of the ship. So left if you come inside. No noise issues here.

  9. So or not the hotel on Istanbul and make a longer trip (the flight to ATH). Becomes late in Europian time (if you fly Emerates from Bangkok)

    OR

Day 5 - Hotel to ship unpacking and muster

Then "only" this transportation will be longer. Hotel to airport flight to ATH and then to the ship.

But in total it keeps a long trip to start the cruise:(
