  1. So good to hear this about the BBQ! It was very inconsistent on our 4 Mardi Gras cruises and just plain awful on Celebration in December. Can't wait to get some GOOD mac & cheese! How have the lines been for Guy's Burgers, pizza & deli? Just read some comments on FB and they made it sound like 30 minute lines all the time. We usually try to avoid peak times and have little to no issues but we've never been on a Vista class ship so close to spring break either. šŸ˜‰ I don't think they've had food in the Havana Bars since the restart.
  2. What all was in that? Strawberry puree and champagne? I love Bellinis but I get mine with Peach Schnapps instead of peach puree. So delicious!
  3. They don't but Chibang has a pretty good lunch menu on sea days at no extra charge.
  4. We rode by there again yesterday and the lot is bigger than I first thought. I sent them an email and will let you know when I hear back. Their website just says parking is $15 per day for overnight guests only and I didn't see any park/cruise rates. But hope to get that clarified for you. šŸ™‚
  5. If you want specialty coffee, go to Bar Della Rosa on deck 8. That's where we head every morning when on Mardi Gras. The lines at Java Blue are usually crazy.
  6. I laughed so hard at this! I read it out loud to Mark and made him laugh too. He wants to know if B is going to try and stay on her low carb diet the rest of the week. I couldn't do it. Pizza would be taunting me!
  7. You got there at 10:00 and waited 45 minutes? That sucks. šŸ˜ Well I just found out OURS is! šŸ˜ So we'll schedule a ride and hope for the best. lol
  8. Yep! We also have a 10:00 arrival time but we're going to Uber/Lyft or taxi over to the port that morning. We've noticed traffic backing up as cars are waiting for the garage to open. Yes! The new parking garage at CT6 is huge and will be completed in November I think. Not sure when the garage at CT10 will be done but sometime after that. We'll check it out when we're at the port later today.
  9. Good morning! Did you park at the port yesterday? With the construction of the new parking garage at terminal 6, I've heard everything from to "no issues at all" to "it's a nightmare" all depending on what time people arrive. The port's official policy is parking garages don't open until 10:00 am to allow time for departing cruisers to clear out of the garages. I saw a post elsewhere from someone who started a B2B on Vista yesterday - they arrived shortly after 9:00 and couldn't park until the garage opened at 10:00. I know it's been a bit of a mess at that particular terminal since the construction started. The workers are having to park in a field and are being shuttled to the terminal.
  10. I'm allergic to shellfish and don't eat any fish or seafood at all. I love Teppanyaki, we've been there twice on Mardi Gras. The desserts were just OK to me, but the rice, filet and chicken I had was so delicious. We also went to Rudi's (the other couple with us at the time love seafood) and I had steak. It was better than the steak I had in the steakhouse on MG.
  11. Yes, all the ships are in port and I saw almost all of them come in! I missed NCL Escape's arrival, it came in a bit early.
  12. Happy cruise day! It really IS a beautiful day but it's only 63 degrees! We're getting ready to hop on the bike to ride over to Titusville and we'll have to bundle up so we don't freeze to death. šŸ„¶ After we finish our chores over that way, we'll take our (almost) daily ride through the port and say hi to all the cruise ships. šŸļø Can't wait to see all your embarkation pictures!
  13. Ninjakitty must be in stealth mode again. šŸ˜ŗšŸ¤£šŸ¤£
  14. Sorry, I just had to tease a little. šŸ™‚We're lifelong Floridians born and raised in Orlando and moved to Cape Canaveral a few years ago. We absolutely love it here and more often than not, I'm lying in bed early mornings watching through our glass door waiting to see the cruise ships come into port. It never gets old! My favorite drink at Fortune Teller is Abracadabra. Lime in the Coconut is pretty good too. Brass Magnolia is our favorite inside bar but our drinks there weren't on the menu. We were lucky enough to cruise with the fabulous Melissa behind the bar on 3 different cruises and she just whipped us up drinks we ended up loving. She knew I liked champagne with peach schnapps from a previous cruise when she was working at Center Stage Bar so for something a little different she made me a drink with champagne, Chambord and St. Germaine. Pretty sure it's the same as Christine's Fav at Golden Jubilee on Celebration. She made my husband some kind of chocolate martini that was amazing. Have fun, I can't wait to follow along!!
  15. I'm still giggling about this - you can hand them out like party favors. I SO wish you were going to be on our cruise! šŸ¤£
  16. Happy travel day! Have a fun, safe ride down but don't spend too much time in your horsey store and Buc-ees - Cape Canaveral is waiting for you and your beautiful blingy sunglasses! šŸ˜Ž
  17. Yay, another live - can't wait to follow along! You'll have to venture a little farther than Orlando to board Mardi Gras though, there are no oceans over there. šŸ˜‚ We can't get enough of Mardi Gras, she's our absolute favorite.
  18. Their parking lot is fairly small, do they allow cruise parking there? We live in the area so we haven't stayed there but drive past it several times a week. Terminal 3 doesn't usually have the traffic mess that happens at Terminal 6. We did notice a long line of cars waiting to get into the garage at T-3 last Saturday, but it's not usually that bad.
  19. The first time it happened that's also what I thought. The next time and every time after that, I know I definitely didn't. I took the bait and booked another Mardi Gras cruise for next year! However the Carnival site just opened up again a few minutes ago and I'm not planning to book another one just yet. LOL
  20. I finally made it all the way through this and enjoyed every moment of it! Thanks so much to both of you for another great cruise review. I have to say we are not fans of cruising out of Miami either and we love cruising out of Port Canaveral. But we live in Cape Canaveral so we're a bit biased. šŸ™‚ Looking forward to cruising on Vista with you and Patti for our first B2B!
  21. When I'm on CC on my laptop and scrolling down to view posts, the Carnival website randomly opens in a new tab. I can't figure out what the heck I've done to make this happen?? I'm literally just scrolling the mouse wheel in CC and then bam I'm on the Carnival site. I take it as a sign to check and see if my favorite cabin on Mardi Gras for our 9/21 cruise has opened up, but so far nada! šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
  22. This is what I'm thinking as well. I mean my friend is considering this.šŸ¤£ We don't usually carry on champagne since we'll have Cheers, but it might be worth doing it in this case - IF my friend has room in her carryon. šŸ˜‰
  23. We live 3.5 miles from Terminal 6 @ Port Canaveral. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to see you in those glasses from my front door! šŸ¤£ Seriously though, I love them and would totally wear them.
