We are considering booking an Auckland to Sydney cruise in 2017 and I was just curious if when you embark they take your passport and keep it at Guest Services or do you keep it?

We are thinking of doing a cruise from Auckland to Sydney in mid November 2017 but after reading the temp's are usually still cold and that it can be a wet time in that area we are thinking of not booking. November is the only time everyone can get away so how cold are we talking about? Is there more of a chance for rough seas and not being able to visit the sounds at that time of year?

Any suggestions for an Auckland Hotel for a pre-cruise stay? Looking for a mid-range priced hotel in a central location.

We are thinking of booking 8274 + 8278 on Solstice and before leaving the deposit was wondering if anybody has any reviews on these two cabins.

Thanks for taking the time to do the review. Enjoyed reading about your travels and your pictures are great. We are thinking of doing this cruise itinerary next year and on the Solstice as well. I was wondering what your thoughts are in regards to the food in the main dining room, the entertainment and the overall condition of the ship. I've read several recent negative reviews and would like to find out a little more information prior to booking.

We are booked on Harmony for the end of January and are looking forward to all the reviews.

Just reserved all our shows for Harmony in January except for the comedy club. All the 5 shows listed the days and times but when you opened the link for the comedy club nothing came up. Even called RCCL and they said they had nothing noted also. Guess they're doing away with it.

Looking forward to reading the reviews as we are also booked on Harmony but in January. Our entertainment times have not opened up yet so hopefully when they do they won't clash with our second seating dining.

If the show times are available for Harmony in December could someone post the times for those shows to give us an idea of what to expect? Or post a link to those times.

Thanks for the link to the Cruise Compass. It does look like the Quest is scheduled earlier than other times we've seen it. Probably going to miss it this cruise as we'd rather see Blue Planet again. The only other time Blue Planet is scheduled is on Friday and that time doesn't work for us. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my original post and for your help.

The Quest usually starts around 10:45 - 11:00 P.M.

 

Would that conflict with any of your show times?

It may interfere with Blue Planet which is on Thursday at 10:30 so we wanted to find out the exact day and time of the quest before we schedule the shows.

We have an upcoming cruise on Allure again and would like to know for the western itinerary which day and what time the Quest is. Definitely want to see it and not have one of our scheduled shows at the same time.

We have an upcoming cruise on Allure again in May so hopefully we'll find out from RCCL soon what and if any changes are taking place.

Is there a way to find out what pier we will be disembarking from now instead of waiting until we board?

I know we leave from pier 25 on March 3rd and we come back on Monday, March 7th but the sites I've looked at don't say from which pier.

After waiting in line at Studio B to walk off with your own luggage do you get off from that deck or do you have to carry your luggage down stairs and get off on a different deck?

Thanks for the info. I looked it up and it seems like there will be two other ships in port when we disembark. Hope this won't cause a delay. I know pier 25 isn't the best as I remember the confusion the previous times we docked there. Hopefully luck will be on our side and things will go smoothly.

Looking at the port schedule, Indy is the only ship scheduled to be in port on the day my cruise disembarks. Do you think this will make a difference? I see posts indicating the cruise terminal used can impact it.

Could you please tell me where you went to find out how many ships beside Indy will be in the morning of disembarkation? Our cruise disembarks on March 7th wondering how many ships will be in that morning.

Sorry I read disembark luggage.. not WITH your luggage. We work with Port Everglades and the Indy has been SLOW lately. Seems if ypu are one of the first off, ygen ur OK, but anytime towards the middle of the pack there are long delays if that helps?

Use self assist if you NEED to get off early. Indy has been kinda a mess lately...

My original post said that we planned to take our own luggage off and be in line early but wanted to know how things have been lately from recent past passengers and what time they got off.

We are planning to disembark with our luggage after our Indy cruise but what is the earliest time this has been allowed in recent weeks? I understand each disembarkation is different but just want to get an idea how things have been going as we need to be off as early as possible.

Sorry...missed that! Love and Marriage is Day 3 (Labadee) and quest is Day 6 (Cozumel) I think. When I get back to the room, I'll check. Happen to be on her now doing western.

Thanks I'd really appreciate that. If you could also check what time the Quest is that would also be extremely helpful. We're trying to book Blue Planet the same night the Quest is scheduled and want to make sure they won't be at the same time.

I don't recall which days, but The Quest is typically held late at night (say ~11:00 pm or later), and the Love & Marriage Game is usually held around 10:00 -- after the big Bingo.

 

Neither will clash with any other shows (with the exception of karaoke maybe).

We love Allure also we sailed her last year but I can't remember when the quest was.
