  1. DH and I will be flying RT to Rome for a cruise next June. In doing mock bookings, it appears prices for business class are very similiar for Non-stop flights from BOS, JFK, and EWR...with flights from ATL quite a bit more. We will be flying in from COS the day before and spending the night in a hotel near the airport. Do you frequent flyers have a preference among these departure airports? With all the airport horror stories right now, I'd really appreciate your input.
  2. This! We have done Alaska several times and in several different months. August will be fine for an Alaska cruise. We've cruised the Italy, Turkey and the Greek Isles itinerary in May, August, and October. I would never have chosen August, but it was the only time my son and DIL could take vacation. Never again, though. It was SO hot, and the crowds were awful. October is by far my favorit time of year for this itinerary.
  3. Our October pre-cruise stay will be our first since thier renovation. However, my brother and SIL stayed there last month for 3 days prior to thier HAL cruise and raved about it. They had stayed there twice before with us on previous cruises, so they had that to compare to. They said it's still thier go-to Rome hotel.
  4. We've stayed many times at 9Hotel Cesari and have it booked again for our upcoming cruise in October. It's in a great location and the rooftop bar (also used for the buffet breakfast) is fantastic.
  5. I just got the e-mail as well. DH and I were to be on the Sept 25th sailing. What a disappointment. I was concerned that things didn't seem to be falling into place, but I didn't think a cancellation was in the picture.
  6. This must be covid related or the rules have changed. I lived in Seattle until a couple of years ago and did 3 Alaska cruises and 2 Honolulu - Vancouver cruise on Celebrity where we got off in Victoria instead of staying onboard to Vancouver. It's so much easier to take the Victoria Clipper back to Seattle than to mess with getting back from Vancouver.
  7. I wish I had seen this thread sooner. I recently booked the Feb 2024 35 day Hawaii-Tahiti-Marquesas cruise on the Koningsdam which required a heafty deposit. Now instead of being excited, I'm worried. 😬
  8. I just booked this cruise yesterday, and yes, the deposit was a bit of a shock, but we'll have to pay up eventually. The included gratuities were clearly listed on the confirmation document . We too were really happy with both the itinerary and the round trip from San Diego--so convenient. Hope to see you onboard. And there's already a very active roll call.
  9. After giving Jagoffee's question of "why" some thought and reading your reply, I 100% agree with your thoughts on what makes one ship or another a favorite. I loved our cruises on the Silhouette too. I think I leaned toward the Equinox on an emotional level for the reasons you described. We were fortunate to have a very active rollcall several times, and made some very good friends...none of which has anything to do with the ship. You summed it up very well.
  10. This is our kids exactly. They're now 30 and 32 and Celebrity is their cruise line of choice.
  11. I've sailed both, and Equinox is by far my favorite. In fact, it's my favorite S-class ship.
