I think you said you were in 9312?  Did you like the cabin and balcony space and did they provide a lounger?

9312 is correct…great cabin and balcony.  I wasn’t able to use the balcony as much as I would have liked due to some rain.  I thought I would have to request a lounger when I boarded, but it was waiting for me.  I loved the cabin so much that it’s already booked for December, 2024!

  2. Abbydancer,

I was on the Apex sailing prior to yours…disembarking as you boarded.  As usual,  I was sobbing as I was dragged off the ship 😭.

Everything (with the exception of some rain) was perfect.  I sailed in a SV on deck 9 which was great.  The staff was fabulous.

Enjoy RGG; we ate there the first night…yummy.  Fortunately, I remembered to wear my “expandable” pants!  With the exception of the oxtails offered in Cosmopolitan, it was my favorite meal.

i hope you have a great sailing.

    Happy Holidays 🎄

Us with our new cruise buddies on a break from the trikes at California Lighthouse in Aruba.  My new cruise buddy’s DH takes amazing “ussies.”

Wow…I spent a beautiful day today in Ft. Lauderdale wandering up and down A1A and missed two pages of your excellent pre-cruise travel journal.  I especially love the Aruba Trikes pic as we did that about five years ago.  What a great excursion!  Happy Travels.

Hi Susan.  Thanks for following.  The weather will be a bit better tomorrow.  Our cool fronts often only last for a day.  Is your true departure time from Port Everglades 3:30 on Saturday?  Maybe our paths will cross on the water?

Bon Voyage to you as well.

Yes…3:30 from Port Everglades.  Since we will be heading south to Key West, maybe I can ask the captain to swing by Miami so we can have our close encounter!

What the heck is with Floridians in this climate?  I had a great outside table at Seasons 52 in Galleria Mall to meet family for dinner.  71 degrees at 6:45 and they needed to move inside because it was too cold 😵‍💫.  Good Lord, we had snow in Chicago two days ago…I am loving 71 degrees.

    “See you” Saturday 😎

In March, our cabin steward told us that due to safety reasons, and things that happened just prior to our cruise, that he couldn’t put a lounger on the balcony.  But during the cruise, we had heard (and seen from the ports) that other SV’s had loungers.

So I’m pretty sure I was being fed a line to maybe get a better Gratuity.  However I usually tip extra at the end of the cruise and wasn’t so generous with this room steward as I usually am.  Should I have gave him a tip while I was asking for a lounger?

I wouldn’t be above bribing the steward to get the lounger.  Hopefully it won’t come to that!

  6. The SV on Edge, and presumably Apex, is amazing.  Granted, I sail solo, but the cabin is spacious and the bathroom is the largest I have seen (having never been in a suite).  I do find the closet a bit smaller than S class, but ask for the robes to be removed to give me more space.  There’s 3 good-size drawers in the desk, 2 or 3 smaller drawers and the safe in the closet and a huge drawer in the bathroom.  You will also find several nooks and crannies in the cabin next to the closet.  I tend to overpack 😱, but there is still plenty of space!  My requests of the cabin steward:  please empty the minibar, lease remove the robes and please, please, please bring me a lounger!  😎

I received multiple move up bid emails, but would not consider giving up my SV!
You’re going to love it 😍

We also have the 9th deck, middle SV cabin, booked on the Apex next cruise.  Please let me know if it's a 'hassle' asking for a lounger.  Posters here have said that some seem to be accommodated and others not on SV E class.

Are we sailing together starting Saturday?  I am also the middle…#9312!  I was lucky getting a lounger on Edge and plan to be equally lucky on Apex!  😉

Thank you Susan.  I was hoping for a bit of shade.  I have never been on an Edge-class vessel, but I am not yet in a place where I would be willing to sail in an IV.  I ended up choosing an SV on Deck 9 on Beyond and an SV on Deck 10 on Xcel.  I made these bookings a bit blind as there were not a tremendous number of SVs to choose from, but I think I landed safely in the middle of any potential noise from above or below.  By the way I will be cruising next week also, but not on Apex.  I will be on MSC Seascape side-by-side with Celebrity Summit, but I see our itineraries do not remotely cross.  It would have been fun to wave to each other.

…we’ll just have to wait to meet up on Silhouette!  😎

  9. I have sailed in both 9309 and 10271 on Edge.  I wouldn’t hesitate to book either again.  I prefer those decks…no noise from Eden below or from the OVC above.  There is not much overhang; but you can bring your chair closer to the balcony door for shade.  I love the SV so much that I have the 9th deck SV booked for next weekend on Apex.

    Enjoy!

I have friends on the Ascent now for the inaugural naming ceremony!

I am also from Chicago, I was in Rogers Park, but moved north to Deerfield. My next cruise on Celebrity is to Hawaii in April, can't wait!

My friends and I sailed on Solstice around Hawaii and across to Vancouver…great trip!

I started in Bridgeport, moved to Des Plaines and ultimately Schaumburg.  The world is getting smaller 🤗

  11. Good morning from rainy Schaumburg!
I’ll be on that same UA flight next Thursday from ORD and boarding Apex when you depart on Saturday, 12/9!  It’s like we are the same person 🤗.
I’ve also sailed Edge and chose this Apex itinerary since my first stop is Key West and that will be a first for me.

I look forward to your review.

    Bon Voyage.

We are traveling with two other couples and our check in starts next week. Since all three reservations are linked in  mine, I am wondering if I will be able to check the others in at the same time I log on to check in?

Has anyone had experience with this?

    Thank you.

Yes…I was able to do it for myself and travel companions in two other cabins since we are all linked.

Lol. We only have cats, no parrot. I’m not nearly that adventurous 😅

So glad to have you along!  I’ve looked at all the menus and they are much better in terms of variety and number of options than they were when we were on Equinox in July. Have to agree, some of those dishes do sound exotic. Anyway, I’ll definitely be posting lots of food pics!

Oh, and what did you think of the Canada firing?  About time?  DH says we need to find a sports bar when we get back to FLL for our turn around day so he can watch the game. I gave him rolley eyes  like this 🙄

I’m the parrot lady 😉.  Sinbad is my bestie…I don’t let on until the last possible moment that I am leaving…as soon as he spots the luggage, all bets are off!  I do think he suspects that I am leaving in two weeks 🚢.

Sorry for interrupting Georgia_Peaches!  And now it’s time to watch you sailaway on the webcam.

    Bon Voyage IMG_5119.thumb.jpeg.4a64efbb96efcba48af8bc2871e6baf8.jpeg
