  1. Just off Harmony. The diamond+ discounted price for the week with gratuity is $352.70. Onboard price is $61. Also diamond discount and above is good for any beverage pakage

What is the discount for Diamond? We are on the HOTS in January, just checked and can buy online for 20% off online so $48 per day plus gratuities etc, is it a better discount to buy on the ship?

  2. Yes, Im happy with the AFT cabin

but the same cruise is now on offer at considerably less than we paid AND an extra 2 nights in hotel thrown in

Not sure if there's anything I can do about it

We sail in 3 weeks and booked 18 months ago

I would call royal, never hurts to try may get some obc or other perks.

  3. Same as poster above (IOS & Dec sailing) - called TA who called RCI and got upgraded to a OS (from GS) and $50 OBC (which is really unusual). This is the 4th consecutive cruise, after final payment, we had the price drop alert and we were able to upgrade to a higher level for either a few $ or nothing. This is the 1st time we got OBC after final payment.

What system are you using to be notified of price alerts? Ive used couple of online travel sites but it seems like I get multiple alerts and the price is different.

  4. Hi everyone. This is my first LIVE cruise post. I will do my best to post daily cruise compasses and menus. Since I am traveling with my kids, I will also post the kids adventure ocean compasses as well.

I will do my best to answer any questions as well.

Here's to a great thanksgiving cruise on HOTS!

We are currently sitting in our waiting area and ready to board!

Thanks so much, following, really appreciate the Daily Compass pic, any of the wine lists from MDR/Vintages/Champagne Bar and any thing else you would like to post. Going 4 times next year on HOTS, can hardly wait, kids are super excited.

  5. Paradise Beach is the best for me, it is not inclusive 3$ fee per person to get in and you need to spent 10$ per person in food and/or drinks. I have visited them a lot in the past and I haven't search for an alternative. I don't want to pay for water toys or unlimited food or drink ( I get that at the ship)so Paradise beach is always our best option

I read some commentst that the beach is very rocky and difficult to enter, is that the case?

  6. Thanks for the info, I found on Trip advisor that there are many who come into Doctors beach to try and sell their items including smoke. We are undecided between Doctors and Red Strip, but are leaning towards Red Stripe because its only 10min from the port and much more controlled and keeping unwanted sales people out...i.e. smoke etc.

  7. We are looking at the same thing for Jan and March, I've been all over trip advisor and the different day pass websites. I'm concerned that Blue Waters has some rough rocks and reeds to get across to the beach. Bamboo beach is supposed to be about 1.5 hours away, I'm not gonna spend that much time on a shuttle. We are leaning towards Red Stripe, it's 10min from the port and seems to have a nice relaxing beach break that is way cheaper than some of the other ones but it depends if you would make use of the inclusive options of the others such as drink and food. Would be interested in hearing what other have done. We have always stayed on ship in Jamica until now and decided to try something else.

  8. We'll be in Falmouth in February. I'm looking for a beach day. We have 3 kids ages 12-16.

Any recommendations for one over the other?

We are researching the same thing for March, sort of leaning towards Red Stripe as its so much closer to port and its more controlled meaning its only for the ship guests and local vendors and those selling their smoke are kept out. We've found from other reviews on trip advisor that the food may be better at Doctors cave but we aren there for the food. The costs seem to be pretty much the same otherwise.

  9. We are arriving into Falmouth on Harmony and a few months later on the Allure, we have never done a excursion in Jamaica and this year would like to do a beach break that is close by but hate the idea of the high cost associated with ship excursions. We have come across Doctors Cave beach. A few questions:

    1. Is it easy to take a cab or shuttle from the port to the Doctors Cave Beach, is the shuttle inside the gates of the port?

    2. How far of a ride is it?

    3. Is there a better beach to go hang out, we want chairs and umbrellas, and beach service i.e drinks and possibly food.

    Thanks for any advice.

  10. I actually liked Hyatt House better than ES. Less congested, better service, better room, great employees!

But it was cheaper by $25 to book ES in February than to use ValueTrips.. so back to ES I go.

Have used Value Trips multiple times for Hyatt, for an upcoming trip the Hyatt is pricey even with Value Trips so back to searching for Mar 2017.

  11. Sorry should have clarified that by every other I meant the regular balcony cabins, not including suites. If you go into the deck plans though anything with the triangle sleeps three with a longer sofa, so therefore the sofa is by the balcony. Glancing into the rooms with the bed by the balcony we noticed the sofas were shorter.

Thanks thats what we are thinking, the ones with shorter sofas are 2 person cabins and the sofa doesnt make into a bed.
