We will be having 2 cabins but don't know whether to stick with deck 7/8/9 inside or go for deck 3/4 outside. Any help greatfully recieved and any other tips . KirkNC Posted March 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2011 The Med is very port intensive so we tend to not get balconies there. We save that money for other itineraries. Kirk
jenny wren Posted March 26, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2011 If you're thinking of going this July, cruise deals website have Free cabin upgrade and free all inclusive at the moment for some of the itineraries!!!! :)
ekco Posted March 27, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2011 We did both but much preferred the outside cabin. Not so much for the view but the natural light made a big difference for us. Then again you're not in there very much so it depends if you'd rather save the money. A lot of the outside cabins on deck 9 have lifeboats restricting the view and don't be deceived by the gaps between them on the deck plan as they are filled with the hoisting ironwork. Deck 3/4 should be fine.:):) Jan
Rebel Rouser Posted March 27, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2011 If you do get an inside cabin, tip no1 Leave the TV on the webcam with no sound then you will know if it's dark outside or if it's sunny or rainy :p

figan Posted March 27, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2011 First cruise for last family holiday. Me, husband, Daughter (18) and son (16). We will be having 2 cabins but don't know whether to stick with deck 7/8/9 inside or go for deck 3/4 outside. Any help greatfully recieved and any other tips . Thnx Hi, have just spent 2 weeks on IE. We were in an outside cabin on deck 7, mid-ship 7558. Raj kept our cabin, sheets and towels spotless. We hardly felt any motion and very little noise. People on Deck 5 were complaining about banging all night due to the waves and creaking ceilings. I don't know about deck 3 but I do advise you try for mid-ship rather than back or front of ship. The staff are brilliant and you should have a lovely holiday as long as you can turn a blind eye to some of the threadbare carpets. Watching people in the casino was always entertaining. Look out for Ravinda in the Beachcomber restaurant - a waiter from India - and tell him Charlie, the 93 year old and his daughter send their love. He is very helpful, as are all the staff. Enjoy! We will be having 2 cabins but don't know whether to stick with deck 7/8/9 inside or go for deck 3/4 outside. Any help greatfully recieved and any other tips .Thnx You shouldn't be hungry after the substancial breakfast and lunch but if you are they serve sandwiches and home made biccies in the Beachcomber at 4p.m. every day. They don't advertise the fact so thought you might like to know. Also, if you are going in to see the shows you have to go into the theatre AT Least half an hour before they start to get a decent seat - well worth the effort. otherwise you will be too far away to see anything. Some people couldn't even get a seat. There are 2 shows - We always went to the 8.30 but there is also a repeat at 9.30. The health treatments seemed very expensive - something like £29 for a 10 minute massage. That sounded dear to me and £26 for a shave. The photos range from £11 to £15. The £15 ones are of studio quality and they take about 5 different poses - great way to get a photo of all your family together, and you don't have to buy them if you don't like them.
