felicityd Posted March 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2017 On our day 2 in Maui I am looking at getting from Kahului to Lahaina. I've found a bus that will take me there, but I need to get from the port to Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. Any suggestions on how to do this? Is there a shuttle from the ship that drops you somewhere in town? Also, what are the roads like in Maui? If I wanted to rent a car to drive to Lahaina, is that a difficult drive? Lots of traffic/bad roads/etc etc?
merinski Posted March 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2017 I think you can get a bus through the ship. However it is easy to rent a car and drive there. Your other opt. maybe would be to take a taxi to the place to get the bus.
Astro Flyer Posted March 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2017 Google Maps shows it's a 20 minute, 1 mile walk from the Kahului port to the Queen Ka'ahumanu shopping center. As 'merisnki' posted it's easy to drive on Maui using a rental car. Once outside the most populated areas of Kahului & Wailuku there are few roads so it's easy to navigate Maui. There's only one viable road to Lahaina which normally takes about 45 minutes to drive there. Although on average a couple of times per month that road can be blocked for hours due to an incident (traffic accident, brushfire or rockslide). I don't know your plans for the West Maui area which includes Lahaina but there are many threads about things to do.
