Hire a private guide for Edinburgh or do it on our own? Concerned about the long

We arrive in Greenock and are trying to decide whether to take Celebrity transportation into Edinburgh or hiring someone for the day. We sail at 6 so feel most comfortable returning by 5 if we go private to allow for traffic delays. If we take Celebrity transportation we know they will wait for the bus.

We found Edinburgh to be quite easy to get around. If you are looking to tour the sites within the city, it is very doable on your own.

I can't answer in terms of touring anything outside of Edinburgh....

We are very much looking forward to returning to Edinburgh next May. It is truly one of the loveliest places we have ever been.
