Magical canaries: how formal??

Im looking to go on the canaries 14 day cruise with my parents - who wont mind dressing up once in a while (maybe twice a week?) but really loathe formal wear all in all...so how formal do we actually have to dress?

Formal on P&0 is just that. You will have either 3/4 formal nights where most of the gents (but not entirely all) will wear dinner suits and the ladies will be in long dresses. You don't have to wear a long dress or dinner suiti.e a dark suit or smart short dress would be perfectly acceptable too. Most passengers do make that extra effort however.You will still have a fabulous holiday whatever you decide!
