conchead Posted May 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2010 We will have our 13yr old with us and was wondering in the evening after dinner (we have late seating) what places are there we can hang out as a family (besides catching a show) to maybe listen to music ect I would check into some of the lounges/clubs. My son and I went to one of the clubs on the Fantasy (Cats Lounge) and listened to a great band Music Manila, my wife was trying to win a bunch of money in the casino at the time(didn't work). Later in the evening some do have age restrictions.
Giggles2007 Posted May 10, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Some may call my family boring, but after dinner we change our clothes and go sit outside of the casino. There is usually a musician playing and maybe people dancing. We sit, listen to music and people watch.
wdnoble9999 Posted May 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Be sure to take advantage of the seaside theater movies under the stars on the Lido. Like going to a drive-in...only better.

rockwood84 Posted May 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Yes, there are usually two shows in the main theater - one following the early dinner seating and one following the late seating. On occasion, they will "flip" the late show and have it before late seating dinner. I've seen this done when there was a special late evening event. Most of the music venues allow teens to be there. The only place that I have ever seen them check IDs is outside the disco club. (Not live music - DJ playing current hits.) The other bars are open to anyone who wants to enter. Since this our son's first cruise dont know if he will be one to want to be at the CircleC with new friends or be attached to our hip LOL

Sorry, but on all of the cruises we have been on there is a early show for late seating followed by a later show for the early seating. The only exception is: IF there was only the one show. SkyMaster Posted May 10, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 10, 2010 There are always great venues where you can hear a band play, and watch folks dance. Usually GREAT bands. Also, there is karaoke every night, and more often than not, it's great fun to just watch, even if you don't want to participate and sing. Bottom line is that there is a lot going on that you'd find entertaining aboard ship. "SKY"
cawagner Posted May 11, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Thanks for the responses, I was worried that after dinner that there was going to be nothing to do unless you were over 21. I didnt want my 13yr old's only option at night to be CircleC or boredom from nothing to do.
Azure Moon Posted May 11, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 11, 2010 One night rather than go to the show in the theater, I went out to the Lido and found a very good musical group, Sea Cruise, playing. Glad I skipped the theater that evening :). And another vote for the awesome Seaside Theater. Love that!

The piano bar may have seats directly outside of it. I sometimes sit outside of the bar and listen to the music. There are still waiters that come by if you want a drink. You can hear everything perfectly and your son would be able to enjoy it without going in the bar. I did this on my cruise to Alaska. I sat outside of the bar near a window and watched the scenery go by. Of course it stays light out a lot later in Alaska.
