How to get Brochure prices?

I don't know if you are trying to deal with O by yourself. That, IMO,is madness. LOL Lowest price cabins sell out early. You need a good cruise specialist who does volume with Oceania to get the cabin you want. Unfortunately,we are not allowed to make recommendations on this site.

Do a Google search.

On the other hand, the original poster may have already been speaking to a third party and did not realize it.

For one thing, Oceania's offices dont open before 8:30AM, and I can assure you that they have information and prices for every category of cabin onhand.

I finally got through by phone at 8:49 am EDT to book an inside for the Rome to Rio, Nov. 22, 2012. Operator told me all the insides were gone but I could get on the waitlist. I asked him why you could not book online and he replied that the website was working fine for theses new offerings. But I do not believe that is the case. I still cannot find the new offerings online. I only received the mailing on the new 2012 Europe yesterday and have not yet located my TA.

Oh well. The operator said Oceania had 300 calls waiting when they opened this am.

I did book an extended balcony B4 for the cruise, so I am happy, albeit poorer!

Congrats - you will love it.

Just a word of advice going forward.

Most of us who use high volume Oceania travel agents placed our "orders" for staterooms as long as a week ago so that they could be called in today. Those TAs generally have access to a group of cabins (some even a guarantee of a group of cabins) and are not waiting endlessly to get through to Oceania today. Many also give you OBCs and/or included gratuities. You probably would have gotten your inside if you had gone that route.

Spend some time searching for one of those TAs and next time you will likely get the cabin you want without having to do the work.

O was taking calls before 8:30. The brochure I received yesterday listed 8:00 am (EST) as when the itins could be booked. I believe it was a bit later than that that one could get through...I was assisted about 8:15 am (5:15 am for me) with no wait time.

I don't know where you were calling, Kathleen, but I live on the East Coast and was calling the Miami Call Center every 5 minutes from 8AM until 8:29AM when I finally got through.

Up until that last minute, a recording repeatedly answered the telephone stating that office hours would start at 8:30.

If, as I suspect, the reservation that I made at 8:31 was the first booked on the Riviera, I intend to frame the confirmation.

I must check with Oceania to see if I can verify that. But not today. they have enough on their plates for the moment!

Hmmmm...the phone service must work much better out here in CA as I was able to get through about 10-15 minutes before you were able to... ;)

I tried calling at 8am, and got the recording. I called again at 8:20 just for fun, and I got through, after waiting about one minute. I was shocked. I was able to grab 7130 for the Rome to Rio TA. Sooo excited!!

You can check availability for specific cabins online for the 2012 cruises and even book online if you prefer, then later transfer the booking to your favorite TA.

There is a risk doing it that way. The TA may have a group limited in number. The group will get some perks -- included gratuities and/or OBC. If you wait, all the slots in the group may be taken and you will not get those benefits. That actually happened to a friend of mine who booked a cruise through my TA long after I did.

O is not giving you gratuities or an OBC.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thinking about booking with O for first time. In past I usually book online myself or with one of the agencies. Why is it necessary to keep calling the office to book? Can't you do it online and get your choice of cabins?

Thanks. Enjoy reading your posts!
