Playa Mia excursion extension

We will be on the Allure in early March with 5 other ships-we plan on taking the ships Playa Mia cooking/beach excursion-but the excursion is only 5 hours long.

Can we just stay longer and take a taxi back to port?

Don't see why not - taxi back to the ship should run about $17+tip (fare covers up to 4 passengers sharing the cab)

My mom and I did that, except we taxied to town first for some quick shopping, then taxied back to the ship. Plenty of taxis waiting at Playa Mia.
