EaglesWing Posted March 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2018 We are on PG's 14 day Marquesas, Tuamotus, and Society Islands cruise on April 14. Can you please enlighten me concerning when (what day) and where the Captain's Welcome Reception happens, and what and where Tahitian Night is? Wendy The Wanderer Posted March 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2018 The Captain's welcome will usually be the evening after the cruise begins. Tahitian night, not sure. We did the Marquesas itinerary, but I don't remember. Why does it matter?
Notion_of_the_Ocean Posted March 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Don't quote me on this but I believe Captain's reception is usually on the second evening and Tahitian night is the second to last evening. (Moorea overnight on most cruises with the exception being the Marquesas where I think it is held after leaving Motu Mahana.)
SWFLAOK Posted March 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2018 I agree with Noto. I checked my Ia Oranas and on our Marquesas cruise last year, the Captain's Welcome party was at 6:30 on the second night (after a day at sea). Our Polynesian Night was after the Motu Mahana day at Taha'a . On our Cook Islands cruise, the Captain's Welcome Party was also on the second night, after spending the day at Huahine. Polynesian night was on our first day at Moorea. The next day we headed back to Papeete for an overnight. So on both cruises, Polynesian night was followed by one more night at anchor, and the last night at the Papeete dock.
