lkohawaii Posted June 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2008 I was going to the Wildlife Conservation Center and researched a little more and found out I should go to Portage Glacier. How long does it take to get form one place to the other? Also is there a perference as to which place to visit first. I have two children 11 and 5. Yukon Posted June 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2008 It's only 6 miles between the 2 places.
Budget Queen Posted June 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2008 There is some good hiking around Portage glacier, the boat tour, is a cheap glacier look, but definately a pass if short on time. The Visitor Center, in my opinion is the reason to stop. They also run some ranger programs, so if you have time, check the schedule. Go in the order you come up them. lkohawaii Posted June 2, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks I'll do just that. I have coupons for the boat tour free of charge from the Northern Lights book. Glad to know that they are fairly close to each other.
