Sorry about the duplicate. Don’t know how to erase.

We will be cruising out of Port of Miami. We are planning on leaving our RV (5th wheel) at the Larry and Penny Thompson Park and Campground next to the zoo.

Is this a nice area? Good base to explore Miami and area?

Trying to decide if we should park at the cruise port ($20. day X 16 days) or leave our pickup truck at the campground and Uber/taxi/limo to and from the port. Anyone have any idea how much a taxi may cost one way?

Any and all opinions/comments welcome

The area is fine, but pretty far from Downtown Miami/Miami Beach/Wynwood etc.. the popular areas to check out. But if you have your own car you may not mind that. Just be prepared for lots of traffic going north in the morning and going back in the evening.

A taxi from there will easily be $70.00 usually Uberx is around 50-60% the cost of the taxi. So as long as you take an Uberx (assuming you can fit your party and luggage in one) you will save some money doing that instead of parking.

The cruise is 16-days so even a taxi roundtrip will save you money. And parking at Port Miami is now $22 a day.
