North beach on Ilet Pinel?

I read that the beach at Ilet Pinel's North end was a lot quieter than the main beach but that you can't swim there.

Any first hand experience? We would like to go to the quieter beach but walking 45 minutes return and not being able to cool off in the sea is not fun.

Thank you!

We spent a day in Pinel Island in May 2013 while on a cruise stop. To get to the beach on the north side, you need to take the trails to the top and then down to the other side. I didn't go all the way down to the beach but could see it from the top. The water was definitely rougher on that side and it appeared to have a lot of rock/coral in the water. I'll attach a picture I got so you can "see". There may be an area where you can wade in (water shoes would be recommended) to cool off.

Hoping someone else who has been there and walked down to the beach can give you more detailed information on the beach/conditions.
