demoiselle Posted October 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2017 Can anyone give me input on this itinerary and ship? My mom has been wanting a winter trip to somewhere warm, and a cruise seems like a good option for us since she is older and I think between being on ship and booking excursions with transportation, she could experience more than if we travelled "freestyle." What are the entertainment options like on board? Are the bands good and receptive to dancers, like they were on Diadema? How are the theatre shows? Was the food generally OK to Good? It will be my mom's first cruise. She really wants to see Mayan Ruins (and historical and nature/animal things, more than swimming and beachy-time), so it's a good selection of ports. Actually, input on Delizioza in general would be good, because there is another cruise on her that I'm considering for later, in the Eastern Mediterranean! Dancer Bob Posted October 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) The quick answer is, it's a smaller version of the Diadema, fewer choices but fewer passengers. There are a usually a few changes for the Caribbean market, but not many. If you want dancing in the Caribbean, it's the only realistic choice. The CD the last couple of years has been Max from Montreal, he does his best to please everyone. I don't do shows (that's when the dance floor is empty!) or shore excursions, so can't help you there. Traditionally, Costa had two groups alternating in the Grand Bar. When I was last on Diadema there was only one group, with recorded misic in between. Huge disappointment, a single mix endlessly repeated, the kindest description, something to offend everyone. I don't know what's planned for Deliziosa this season- last year, there was a second group. I talked to Linda from Stardust, even she doesn't know and won't find out until the ship arrives at Pt Everglades. I've emailed the president of Costa (actually, his EA) hoping for a policy statement, no answer yet. Edited October 10, 2017 by Dancer Bob
