Questions On Upcoming Magic Cruise

We are seasoned cruisers on other cruise lines but this will be our first Disney Cruise. We're really looking forward to it but have some questions.

1. Are there any activities and shows that we need to book online prior to boarding?

2. Do we have to sign up to be part of their loyalty club in order to get the perks for future cruises with Disney?

1. Things that can be prebooked:

Palo (adult) dining

Frozen Meet & Greet

Princess Gathering

Tasting/Mixology classes

Nursery time (if needed)

Spa options

Any excursions you're interested in

2. You don't sign up for the loyalty club. Castaway Club membership is automatic as soon as you complete your first cruise. Loyalty levels:

Silver Castaway Club member - upon completion of 1 cruise

Gold CC member - upon completion of 5 cruises

Platinum CC member - upon completion of 10 cruises

You can find the Castaway Club perks here: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/castaway-club/

As a first timer, your sign up window will open 75 days before embarkation. In addition to those things Shmoo listed, you'll do your on line check in and choose your PAT (Port Arrival Time) which directly links to your boarding card number. You can choose from among any of the times offered online. If you are using DCL transportation to get to the terminal, this selection will not be available to you--don't worry, DCL has you covered if you ride their bus.

Also, don't worry if you can't get adult dining in advance--go to the location for "Palo Reservations" noted on the Welcome Aboard Navigator and you'll find lots of reservations available. Nursery--book what you think you want, but the staff will work with you if your needs change. You can pre-register kids 3 and up in advance, which makes your life easier when you do the on board sign up. However, there is no time selection process for kids 3 and older.

You do not have to sign up for the Castaway Club program. You will be automatically entered into DCL's computer. THings vary greatly as to whether you'll be mailed a membership card with number or whether you'll see it on line or whether you'll call DCL to get your number. It really doesn't matter--since 1998, we've always been in the computer as repeaters.
