gobar Posted September 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2017 What are the aft cabins like (E1) category on Liberty of the seas( RCCL) ? choice of 6, 7, 8 deck. Which is better? Or any suggestions on a particularly nice E1 ( Superior ocean view ) cabin on decks 6, 7, 8 that did get refurbished . Heard not all cabins were given a haul over and some are very dated. Would appreciate cabin # choices on these 3 decks. Have to decide quick. Thanks
cb at sea Posted September 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2017 The higher the deck, the less obstruction....nothing blocks your view...the "obstruction" is simply deck area below you, so you're further from the actual edge of the ship. crystalspin Posted September 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2017 The obstruction for these cabins is not only the deck below -- there is super-structure especially near the center of the aft. These are like white pipes and panels and can be see from the outside on any pic of the rear of the ship. Cruisedeckplans recommends the outside cabins (6710, 6410, 7708, 7408, 8710, 8410) will have a better view through the structures. In fact looking at the drawings and photos available, I would definitely choose 8410 or 8710! Those large portholes (right of the flag)? They are the openings on the extended balconies of the 6th and 7th deck outside E1 balconies! All of the aft-facing balcony cabins mentioned have staterooms above them and all but deck 6, below. Deck 6 has the upper main dining room below, not a great source of noise but combined with the view... I did not find any mention of rooms that did or did not get a recent decor upgrade. You might post on the RCI subforum on CC. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
