Rare steamboats Posted April 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2017 There are no assigned tables and you can choose the restaurant (Olympia or Amalthia - same menu). Anyway dinner starts usually by 6:30 pm. steamboats
Bluebell247 Posted June 14, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2017 December will hopefully be a busier time, but depending on number of people on board the buffet may not be open, it wasn't when we were on board May 22/29 it was a la carte in the main restaurant on deck 8 only. There was less than 250 people on board that week.
TravelerThom Posted August 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2017 I will be cruising Cuba on the Crystal December 1st. Is there assigned seating for dinner..or is it open seating?Definitely NOT assigned when we were on last week. The Olympia restaurant was open ONLY for French speakers, of which there was a large charter flight group. Most of the tables in Amalthia seat 8 (a few smaller tables). The Amalthia staff will ask you how many in your party, and escort you to a table for 8 with generally others who speak your language. I assume you can request a smaller table, which may or may not be available; we just went with the flow and enjoyed talking with others.
