mdenis Posted November 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Considering this excursion for our July cruise. HAL site offers for $270 pp. Booked directly with Alaska excursions it is $219 pp. Other than the “guarantee” return to ship in time (and excursion will end approx 4 hours before we need to be back onboard), is there any benefit to paying an extra $50 pp? Rare Coral Posted November 29, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2017 No, there is no benefit. You will be with people from your ship, most likely. Book direct - save $$$. It is a great excursion!
newanne Posted December 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 5, 2017 We did this tour, booked ourselves. Had a wonderful time, and no problems being back on the boat in time. Save the money.
CCJack Posted December 17, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 17, 2017 This is a great day, you will enjoy it. We booked independently, but I am nearly certain you end up with others who booked via the cruiseline, so the excursion is the same vendor for all. We did have a little confusion finding the right place to meet right when we exited the ship in the morning. If you book independently you may be looking for a different company representative than if you book through the cruise line. It was crowded and we had some difficulty finding the person. But when we did, our group was merged with the other groups (who meet different company representatives) and we all ended up on the same boat for the whole day. Have fun...
