Shmoo here Posted February 23, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2018 I know everything gets charged to your room, but can you pay cash at the end of the cruise? Sent from my iPhone using Forums Sort of. If you wish to pay your onboard account via cash, you must go to Guest Services and put down a cash amount. There's a minimum amount you must put down and it varies based on the length of your cruise. Then you use your KTTW card to charge to your room account during the cruise. Once the cash amount drops below a certain number (varies by length of cruise), you will be notified to come back to Guest Services to add additional cash to your account. At the end of the cruise, if there's any cash left in your account, it will be refunded to you.
moki'smommy Posted February 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2018 (edited) Sort of as above, except that there is no minimum you must put on your account. There is an amount that they suggest, but it is not required. When you have spent what is on your account, you'll be notified and asked for more money to be applied. If you don't opt to make an up front payment or if you go thru it and don't go to GS, they will cut off charging on your card. That is, when your card is swiped, there will be a notification that you need to go to GS...and you won't be able to make the purchase you were trying to. Another thing you can do is to put a credit card on the account and ask them at what point they bill the card (it used to be $400 on a 7 night cruise). If you wish to pay cash, go to GS and put cash on the account before your charges reach that level. You can also put a pre-paid Visa card on your account. They won't question you or ask you for money unless you spend all that is on the card. This saves you the need to stand in the long GS line on the last night. In terms of using what is on the account, they will first "spend" any non-refundable onboard credit, then any "funny money" like Disney Visa Reward Dollars, then cash, and only bill the card when all other funds are used up. Any unspent cash that you put toward your account will be refunded in cash at the end of the cruise.
