Crichard Posted April 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2007 We are looking at doing the Bacaler Highlights and Seven Color Lagoon tour. Any suggestions? We are doing beaches at the other ports of call so we are looking to learn something about the area. Any suggestions appreciated. Crichard Posted April 14, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We are getting nervous that this is not a good excursion, 23 hits and no answers. Any suggetions on excursions for teenagers thats not a beach please let us know. We are doing the beach at three other places and are looking for something different. lov2cruise707 Posted April 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2007 I wouldn't waste your time at the lagoon. It didn't find it to be that nice. Other good choices of activities are horseback riding, going to one of the ruins, jungle tours, cave tour, ect.
Crichard Posted April 15, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Thanks for your advice, from the lack of response I was guessing it was not a good choice. Cathy
HesitantCruiser Posted April 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Wasn't around to see this, but we actually had a blast here. You need to be in the mood for mellow. The lagoon was gorgeous, the kids (12,12,15) had fun swimming and tooling around in kayaks and pedal-boat. Great margaritas. Very very few other people, which we found to be a bonus. The water is lovely. NOT a spot for shopping, wild partying, intermingling with a big crowd - but you can do all of those things ON the ship, right? It would really depend on what you like and what you expect, as to whether you would enjoy it.
Crichard Posted April 16, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Thanks so much. We booked this because we wanted some place quiet. This is our second cruise this year, so we are sort of shopped out, or at least my bank account says we should be. We were looking for a place to spend some fun family time together, we can party back on the ship at night. Thanks for your response, we may go ahead and give this a try. LisaBug Posted April 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2007 We went to Seven color lake and it was the most beautiful place we have been to. We stopped at Keynote azul. It is right there. Had a good place to eat. There was a swimming hole there and tire swings. Lots of beautiful fish. We really enjoyed being here away from all the crowds. It was husband and I and my 14 yr old son. If you are looking for peaceful this is the place.
crcmb@msn.com Posted April 17, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2007 How are you getting to this lagoon? Is it a tour? This sounds wonderful! Does anyone have any pictures that have been there before? Is it far from the ocean? Thank you!

texancruzer Posted May 18, 2007 #11 Share Posted May 18, 2007 Also looking at this tour while on our upcoming Voyager cruise (01/08) Was surprised to see hardly any threads on this...... sounds really nice. And very few people: yes ! After two days of ports with heavy duty physical expense - this is exactly whatI am looking for..... BUT DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY PICTURES ????? dforeigner Posted June 2, 2007 #12 Share Posted June 2, 2007 Here are some pictures for those interested. It is called Lago de Bacalar. We did not stop there but drove by it on the way to the ruins.
dforeigner Posted June 3, 2007 #13 Share Posted June 3, 2007 How are you getting to this lagoon? Is it a tour? This sounds wonderful! Does anyone have any pictures that have been there before? Is it far from the ocean? Thank you! To get some basic information google Bacalar, Mexico. There are other lakes/lagoons named Bacalar in Africa and I believe Europe. Hence, the reason to add Mexico as part of the search.
