helpmesailaway Posted March 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Has anyone experienced an Easter holiday in Basel. I am wondering if there will be cabs at the train station for a ride to the cruise pier - or should I try to book transportation before we leave? This is our first river cruise and looking back at all our ocean cruises, I don't believe I've been in Europe on a holiday such as Easter so I don't know what to expect. Also - I've read that Switzerland is not really a "tipping country " Is this true? We always tip for many services but then again - first visit to Switzerland and I would appreciate some advice. Thank you.
Peregrina651 Posted March 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2018 If the trains are running, there will be cabs at the station. xmaser Posted March 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2018 Be aware that Easter Monday following Easter is a holiday in most of Europe and many places will be closed. Have found cafes and museums open however.
