Drinks on the QM2

The It Girl

Recommended Posts

I have to admit my cocktails were a little weak on QM2 (or so it seemed). For some reason they use tall glasses for standard cocktails. Once I started asking for short glasses I had no problem. The bartenders and wait staff are excellent! They started remembering drinks fairly early into the cruise. Not bad considering there are 2600 passengers onboard.

speaking of drinks, can someone comment on what is covered with our booking fee for beverages, and what are billed for to be paid at the end of the trip? I understand cocktails would be extra, but what about other beverages?

They have some kind of a deal for unlimited "Soft Drinks". I don't know what the cost is, you can find out on board from any bartender etc. I think they put a sticker or something on your Cruise ID Card. Otherwise you will get charged for sodas and bottled water.

Water, Iced Tea, Lemonade, Coffee, Hot Tea are available all day free in the King's Court. Just help yourself. I felt no need for soda with the iced tea and lemonade available.

Answering 2 questions: 1. The Martinis were about $5 to $6 each (and I drink them with Gray Goose) - a very good deal (they cost about 2X that much here in NYC). 2. The soda card was $35 - you can get the sticker from any bartender - it covers soda and soda only (which you have to pay for if you don't have the sticker, even in the restuarants). There is free iced tea and lemonade available at the lunch buffet. - Mo

Hi,

There was free orange juice and grapefruit juice in the Kings Court 24/7

you are permitted 2 btls. alcohol per passenger per cabin.

Vodka/Gin and free mixers such as what I just listed and you can't go wrong.

You would be having a screwdriver or a greyhound

Enjoy
