Dawn November Repo Boston to San Juan opinion on 4 sea days - cost of 9 day spa pass

I booked the Dawn Repo for November 2016 and now am having second thoughts about 4 sea days in November on the way to San Juan. Anyone done the Fall Dawn repo from Boston have feedback was it too many sea days in a row. As a New England native I know there is no way to predict the weather but hoping for warmish weather by Day 3. We are not really ones for bingo, trivia, casino or other daytime activities and mainly like to sit on deck and look at the sea during the day and end the day with the spa. Thought it would be nice to sail out of Boston again since it the port is 20 minutes away but wish it was another ship and maybe October.

Our first cruise was on the Dawn to Bermuda and while we enjoyed the ship do feel that it lacked in public spaces other than the sundeck with an ocean view. Really wish NCL ships would have solarium like other It was also during school vacation and with large family groups and packs of roving teens so no more summer cruises for us. We had the spa pass for our week or might have jumped ship in Bermuda. Does anyone know what the cost of the spa pass would be for a 9-Day cruise and do they sell them in advance for the Dawn now. We went on Getaway and were able to pre-book. I think the spa pass would be a real deal breaker for us for this cruise.

I am getting nervous about this cruise and looking at options from Florida in October. Have a hold on the Allure out of Ft. Lauderdale since not interested in any of the NCL sailings at that time and Celebrity is priced to high right now.

Anyone cruised on the Dawn October/November repo, did you love it or hate it?

We have done this repo 3 times but for 14-15 nights and loved it each time. Usually by the later part of the first sea day your in warmer weather and 2 new sea day out laying on deck and in the pool. Hard to predict though. Maybe we have just been lucky. Spa pass is $140 pp for 7 nights. Don't know for a 9 night. The sea days are wonderful and relaxing. We usually take 14 night cruises because hardly any kids so don't feel the need for spa passes. We are booked for the dawn October 2018 14 night round trip Caribbean. Can not wait. No flights and get the Caribbean with 7 islands. I am guessing you are booked on the 2017 repo.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems like very positive comments on the Dawn repo cruises. Yes we are on the November 2017 cruise to San Juan and was excited to see this option this year since the recent repos to New Orleans were too long for us and the Southern Caribbean Islands have been our favorite ports so far. Would love to sail out of Boston again but would have to say the Dawn is the least favorite of the ships we have been on even though it was the first. Wish we would get another option from Boston to the Caribbean. Trying to decide if we keep this cruise or cruise out of Florida in October. It would be nice to have no worries about getting to the port though. It was seeing the Dawn sail past our beach in Winthrop that got us to try cruising. We booked an Ocean View but were hoping for a price drop to get a balcony. In your experience do the price of these cruises go down closer to departure or do they sell out? The price has been going up since we booked so it must be selling well.

We have seen both price drops and rises. This is only 9 days so more people are able to take that time off vs a 14 night. In 2013 we were able to go from a balcony to an mb minisuite to a midship minisuite at no cost due to price drops. You never know. We were on the seven night Boston to Bermuda this past October and the amount of kids were insane. Doing it again this may. Wouldn't do the 7 nights except we get the trips at a 3 rd of the price from twin rivers. Can't say no to that.

Where is your ocean view located on the ship? I only ask because FYI the deck 8 forward cabins are very noisy due to the theater below and waves crashing on the hull. Also very long walk to anywhere. We found out the hard way in October.

We are on deck 5. On our first Dawn cruise we were on 8 in an obstructed ov cabin the good news was we were given an unsold hc cabin so it was bigger but the water did go all over from the shower. It was quiet except late at night there were many over served adults and teens going by on the way to what was then the Blue Lagoon. I liked the easy acces to the breakfast in the morning and to the promenade on 7 for fresh air but other than that didn't like deck 8. We had deck 5 on the Jewel and Getaway and like the easy access to 6/7/8 and not needing and elevator at the ports so thought we would try that on the Dawn this time.

I also wish we had a different ship come to Boston. We have been on the dawn 7 times now. The refurb does make the ship look almost brand new. O'sheehans was wonderful. New Mexican restaurant I heard is good. The best part is we know the ship top to bottom. Never get lost. Haha. Well if you choose. The dawn or another ship have a Great time. For now I love the no flight hassle and expense. Would do the repo again but I want 14 nights and no kids.
