Uncwrn93 Posted February 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2018 We're looking at a late summer Alaskan cruise next summer. We've been before in June Will many of the same excursions be available? What about the whale watching? I know weather is hard (impossible) to predict and that typically it's colder and rainier. Any other tips about cruising so late in the year? xlxo Posted February 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2018 Statistically August starts to get wet.... September is discounted for storm chasers. If August, try to do early August if you envy dry port weather.
new_cruiser Posted February 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2018 We went in August. Some mornings we're foggy. There was occasionally light rain and it was often overcast. Had a fairly heavy rain shower while driving to Denali. On the other hand, we had beautiful weather for bus up train back to the Yukon in Skagway and one day saw Denali totally clear before a cloud came back.
