fstuff1 Posted June 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2018 my closest port is Baltimore but i have never sailed out of there. (my usual cruise line is NCL and their closest port is NYC.) but my land casino in Atlantic City is giving me a $500 Carnival certificate for any cruise. i just did the solo pricing for Carnival out of Baltimore. $900 +taxes/fees was the cheapest. 7Day The Bahamas from Baltimore, MD on Carnival Pride does carnival have no solo supplement sales? if so, how do i easily find them? rch3232 Posted June 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2018 You always pay double on Carnival. Book a studio on NCL and you’ll have plenty of solos to interact with and NCL is a much better product IMO.
robin13 Posted June 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Unfortunately you have to pay double on Carnival. But since you have a $500 Carnival certificate (hope it's not for double occupancy) then your cruise will be much cheaper. My first solo cruise was last November and it was on the Carnival Sensation. It was just a 5 day cruise out of Miami but it only cost me $231 (with taxes) as it was a casino offer. It would have been half that price but since I was sailing solo it was doubled. A word of advice would be to make sure that you book a newer Carnival ship since you are used to NCL. The old Carnival ships kinda of suck if you are into bells and whistles
Earl Colby Pottinger Posted June 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Has Carnival done something different in the last year or so? My last three cruises with Carnival were not solo, but before that I did a number of solo cruises with Carnival and I have had single supplements of 25%, 33% and 50% depending on which cruise you are talking about. Also I did one cruise with Carnival when I paid double for the cabin but went solo for $800 for a 21 day back-to-back cruise. That was test cruise. When did they change it so you pay double all the time?
