gsb Posted June 14, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2005 If going on your own, no tour, can you still get down below to the crypts? We were able to do this 4 years ago, but I realize things may have changed.
arkcruiser Posted June 14, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2005 Recently on a Saturday, the line to get down to the crypts, where John Paul II is buried, was 75 minutes long -- but everything at the Vatican was incredibly crowded that day.
MaseratiCruiser Posted June 14, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2005 Best way is to sign up for the Scavi tour (which is a must anyway) with the Vatican before you leave, then you will be at the tombs of the Popes on the way out without having to wait in the long line that the others are standing in.
