Beach Towels

Do you bring your own on the cruise or just use theirs? I bought a few today but am now thinking it will take extra precious space in the suitcase! What do u do?:D

We bring our own, lightweight cheapo towels. They dry quickly, are colorful so we can ID them easily, and aren't too heavy to lug back to the ship when they're wet and sandy. If we lose them, we're out just a couple of bucks.

I should also mention, though, that we drive to port, so there's no extra charge for heavy or extra bags. :D

Absolutely no need to bring your own. Take up WAAAAY too much space in luggage. On 4 cruises we have used ship's towels, even on excursions and never lost any.

CCL states that you should use the blue towels they supply in the cabin for the pool or shore excursions. Why bother bringing your own?

I usually bring the cheapy 2 dollar ones from Walmart for excursions the blue towels are great for on the ship but I find them big and bulky to carry around off the ship;)

I bring my own from home. I used Carnival's towels once on my last cruise, and someone stole it & I was charged $22 for it. Lesson learned. :)

I drive to port as well but I bring my own so if they are lost we are only out a few bucks. I use them in carry on to wrap my two bottles of wine me and DW are allowed to bring.

just use the ones provided on the ship and then you can exchange for clean ones if needed as well as not taking up that precious space in the suitcase:p

I've done both in the past. I let how much room/weight I have in my suitcase dictate whether or not they make the trip. But really, there is no need to bring them with you.

I live near port too and dont want to deal with packing another thing. I used the ships towels and made sure to keep track of them. I have 2 kids too. I just had them use the white towels near the pool. We did end up finding one in a cab on the way back from Cozumel someone left. So it got to come home with me. Honestly they are not the greatest towels. Nice size but get heavy when wet.

You can use theirs but they are very heavy when wet, this year am taking my own cheap ones.
