JVanDermark Posted August 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2017 Could you please recommend any excursions that allow kids as young as 4? Thanks
HappeeSayler Posted January 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2018 I'm searching for information on kids that same age. Specifically anything that includes seeing airplanes. Curious as what you decided on?
Cruising Cindy Lou Posted January 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2018 If you want to see the airplanes then going to Maho beach would be easy. You can either take a taxi or the city bus. The beach there is not real large and can get pretty crowded but is very neat to see if you have never been. Last year when we went seemed like there was a airplane every few minutes. All different sizes. We took city bus and stayed a little over an hour. Then came back on the bus to the shopping section. We shopped for a while and then there is a nice beach right there by town that is nice.
RMH Posted January 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2018 I agree with the above. If you want to see the planes, no need to book an excursion - just take a bus or a taxi. Most of the bigger planes come in between noon - 2:00 and take off between 2:00 - 4:00. However, the number of bigger planes is down a lot from last year since not as many people are traveling to St Maarten due to hurricane damage to hotels. If you want to combine the planes with a nice day at the beach that is perfect for kids, the same bus/taxi can drop you off at Mullet Bay in the morning and you can walk to Maho Beach (easy 15 minute walk) in the afternoon. OP the "nice beach" in town has been hampered by water pollution issues that have affected it especially after heavy rain for years.
cc cruiser Posted April 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Is the walk from Mullet Bay to Maho safe with a 4 year old? As in, wide shoulders on the road, not too much traffic?

I think a 4-year old would be fine. There are sidewalks to walk on in the town of Maho itself, and the road goes through a golf course, in which you can stay well off the road. The shoulders are not wide, but traffic is not heavy either, so as long as your 4-year old does not like to run out in front of moving cars, he/she should be fine.
